- Wyvern Prep in Stanmore, Kindergarten to Year Six - Lindfield Prep, in ’s Northern Suburbs, Kindergarten to Year Six - The Stanmore Campus, Year 7 to Year 12.

The Stanmore campus leads students to differentiated learning pathways in their senior years by offering the choice of the NSW Higher School Certificate, the International Baccalaureate Diploma or designated vocational (VET) pathways for students.

Eligibility To be eligible for this Scholarship you will need to be undertaking study in 2021 in an undergraduate French language course. An interest in teaching as a potential career pathway would be an advantage. The scholarship place is awarded at one of Newington’s Campuses – (Stanmore)

Scholarships at Newington College The Teacher Education Scholarship provided by Newington College offers a unique opportunity to work closely within a school. The Newington College Scholarship is valued at $12,000 for one year only and will be awarded to a student with a strong academic record who will contribute to the curricular and co-curricular life of Newington over 2021.

Students with an interest or expertise in French Language development will be highly regarded and are encouraged to apply.

During 2021 the recipient will have the opportunity to be fully involved in the life of the College: • embedded in the Primary School mentored by experienced teachers, • participating in well-being and pastoral programs, • involvement in the co-curricular life of the school • access to the professional learning and resources provided by the College.

Recipients will have the opportunity to be fully involved in the life of the Wyvern House Prep, embedded in an academic department mentored by an experienced teacher, well-being programs, the co- curricular life and access to all professional learning at the College. The recipient will spend time at the College split between academic roles within their specialist academic area and involvement in a co- curricular activity. It will equate to 1.5 days per week flexibly negotiated around university commitments.

Selection will be by consideration of a written application and a subsequent interview for short listed candidates. Preference will be given to students who can contribute to both and co- curriculum areas within the School.

Continuation of the Scholarship is dependent on maintaining a high academic standard and the recipient must achieve satisfactory progress in practical experience and professional studies throughout their final year.

Application Process To apply for the Newington College Scholarship you are asked to provide the following:

1. A summary (2 page maximum) resume illustrating relevant background; 2. A one page statement indicating the reasons behind your interest in working with Newington College, and how you might contribute to the co-curricular program; (Please refer to www.newingtoncollege.nsw.edu.au to see the range of co-curricular activities). 3. A copy of relevant degree transcripts; 4. Contact details of TWO relevant referees; and 5. Copies of any Professional Experience/Practicum Reports (if available). 6. Applications will be accepted until the end of the school year, and interviews will be conducted as they are received.
