The Livingston Parish School Board met in regular session in the School Board Office Conference Room, 13909 Florida Blvd., Livingston, Louisiana, on Thursday, March 5, 2020, at six o’clock PM pursuant to the following notice:

There will be a regular meeting of the Livingston Parish School Board at the School Board Office, 13909 Florida Blvd., Livingston, Louisiana on THURSDAY, MARCH 5, 2020, at SIX O’CLOCK PM for the following purpose and to take whatever action is necessary:

PRESENT: Ms. Kellee Dickerson, Ms. Jan Benton, Mr. Bradley Harris, Mr. Cecil Harris, Mr. Jeff Cox, Mr. Frank Parrino, Mr. Devin Gregoire, Mr. David Graham ABSENT: Mr. Brad Sharp ------2. Sheriff Jason Ard introduced Officer Levi Russell and his grandmother, Rosie Russell. Ms. Russell told about Levi’s mission to protect our law enforcement officers by providing bulletproof vests. Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officers Chad Dupuy, Robbie Ellis, and Angel Cruz received a custom bulletproof vest provided by Angel Armor and purchased through the fundraiser, “Officer Levi’s Quest for Vest”. In addition to the vest, officers received a blessed medal and prayer card to be worn in their vest. The fundraiser has made it possible to purchase vests for Officers Gene Higginbotham and Burley McCarter.

Superintendent Murphy presented Officer Levi a Certificate of Appreciation on behalf of the board and the Livingston Parish Public Schools. Highest Assessment Index High School of 96.5 A Holden High School

Superintendent Murphy presented plaque(s) to the representative(s) of each school and expressed his gratitude for their effective leadership and outstanding accomplishments. ------5. A motion was offered by Mr. Brad Harris, seconded by Ms. Benton to approve the minutes of the Livingston Parish School Board meeting held on February 20, 2020.

The President declared motion carried unanimously. ------6. Approval of Change Order No. 1 for classroom addition, Doyle High School – Ziler Architects, “Professional of Record; McLin Construction, LLC, Contractor was deleted from the agenda. ------7. A motion was offered by Mr. Parrino, seconded by Mr. Gregoire granting the Superintendent authority to advertise for the following School Food Service items for the 2020-2021 school year:

The President declared motion carried unanimously. ------8. A motion was offered by Ms. Benton, seconded by Ms. Dickerson granting the Superintendent authority to renew bids for the following School Food Service items for the 2020-2021 school year:

A motion was offered by Mr. Cox, seconded by Ms. Benton to approve the renewal of Administrator’s Performance- Based Contracts effective July 1, 2020 – June 30, 2023 as presented by Superintendent Murphy. (A copy of the Administrator's Performance-Based Contracts list is hereby attached and becomes a part of these minutes.)

The President declared the motion carried unanimously. ------10. The monthly financial report and payment of invoices were approved upon motion offered by Mr. Brad Harris, seconded by Mr. Cecil Harris.

Supervisor of Instruction Kelly Jones introduced the following four Livingston Parish “National Merit Finalist”:  Walker High School boys basketball team in the Quarter Finals  STEAM bus will be at the DSHS STEM and Robotics Center, Saturday, March 7, 2020, from 9-2  Tyler Zeringue - Live Oak High School ------ Emily Rushing - Live Oak High School 12.
