Exemplar Attendance If you aren’t at school, you aren’t learning. If you aren’t learning, you aren’t gaining the skills necessary for certification, the work environment, etc. If you aren’t gaining those skills, you have wasted your time and our time as well. Good Behavior Record Your track record is a good indicator of how responsible you are. After safety training and experience, LPLTC students will be using needles in labs, putting hands in engines, and representing the home school, LPLTC, and LPPS in the community, etc.; therefore, you need a good track record of positive behavior. If there are consistent behavioral issues, you could potentially lose internship opportunities or return to your home school campus for Semester 2. Recommended 2.0 GPA The ability to complete the rigorous coursework required for the national certification curriculum and possible dual enrollment credit is necessary. For internship courses, if you do not make a 70% or better for Semester 1 (80% for PNII and PCT) or are unable to participate in an internship for other reasons, you remain at LPLTC to complete content modules and research assignments. IEP Holders If you currently have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), an IEP must be held to reflect LPLTC attendance before the first day of school. The Director and/or the LPLTC IEP Facilitator must be in attendance. IEP teams should review information at All Things Jump Start when considering the appropriate pathway and career preparation experience for the individual student. Being fortunate enough to attend LPLTC, you are expected to fulfill our motto, “Meant for GREATness!” Greatness is not synonymous with grades; it includes appearance, character and attitude. Greatness is not something given to a person. It is achieved…one must work for it. So, it is meant that students should do their homework, study, get involved, be respectful to all people encountered, care about his appearance, clean up after himself, etc. This is all part of our #realworldwork philosophy! We are excited to see you take the steps necessary to become a part of the GREATness that LPLTC offers! Sincerely, Kimberly P. Albin LPLTC Director/Principal Mrs. Kimberly P.
