NNZ COUNCIL 2009

Netball New Zealand held our Annual Council meeting in Wellington in February, a great time was had by all. All regions were represented well and were presented with the new Netball New Zealand Strategic Plan for the next four years. You can find this plan as well as the 2008 Annual Report on the Netball New Zealand website, www.netballnz.co.nz.

Those who attended Council in 2009 were able to attend workshops on many topics relevant to Netball in our regions. These were; Building Successful Teams, Funding and Facility Development, Developing and Growing our Game and Sponsorship. The workshops were greatly received.

During dinner Guest Speaker Kevin Biggar fascinated us with his gripping tales of winning the 2003 Atlantic rowing race in World Record time and becoming one of the first New Zealanders to walk unsupported to the South Pole. Sydney 2009 World Masters

Leading up to camp Lily and I discussed who we would dress up as. We had heard about people going netball. as Wonder Woman, Spiderman, doctors, fire fighters etc. Lily immediately suggested we should go as 'netball players'. We thought it was a fantastic idea as we both LOVE Sydney 2009 World Masters netball. Lily decided she would be and I should be Maree Bowden.
