Raosaheb B. M Gogte KLS IMER connued the legacy to conduct its flagship event “Foundaon Day” on September 16, 2019. As per the tradion of the Instute, Mr. Keith Machado, Joint Managing Director, Orione Hydraulics Pvt Ltd., a successful entrepreneur from Belagavi, was felicitated with the ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ Award for 2019. Foundaon day is an event to show tribute to the patronage of Late Shri. Raosaheb B.M Gogte. Gogte Lecture Series talk 2019 was organized as part of ‘Foundaon Day’ 2019. Chief guest, Mr. Niket Karajagi, Founder Director of Atyaasaa Consulng Private Limited, Pune spoke on “Disrupons and Gogte Lecture Series talk 2019 Downturns: Meeng Twin Challenges for SMEs and Mr. Niket Karajagi, Founder Director of Atyaasaa Consulng Private Limited, MSMEs”. He suggested SMEs and MSMEs entrepreneurs, industrialists, TiE Hubli members, to look into the changing needs of the customer and Rotarians and academicians. market as an opportunity “Family Business Dynamics & Growth” 28th & 29th June, 2019 K L S I M E R 2 T H E H O R I Z O N Two Days’ Execuve Development Programme (EDP) on “Family Business Dynamics & Growth” was organized by renowned family business advisors & faculty from ISB, Hyderabad. This iniave by KLS IMER was carried out to create an awareness amongst family business owners in Belagavi to understand the dynamics and key challenges in today's family-run businesses. Mr. Natarajan Krishnan, Principal Consultant at Human Endeavour and a cerfied family business advisor from “Business Family Foundaon” Montreal, Canada addressed the gathering. Session was aended by 25 business owners from Belagavi Workshop on Syllabus Revision 3rd , April 2019 A workshop on revision of syllabus for MBA 1st and 2nd semester of Rani Channamma University, Belagavi was held at KLS IMER for framing the new syllabus for academic year 2019-20. Faculty from RCU affiliated colleges took part in the workshop. The inaugural session was presided by Prof. Thagayaraja, Chairman PGDBA, RCUB. Dr. Atul R. Deshpande, Director, KLS IMER welcomed the gathering. Two Days’ Training Program on 'Digital Marketing' 29th,30th, April 2019 K L S I M E R 3 T H E H O R I Z O N KLS IMER, in collaboraon with Makeintern and IIM-Indore, organized two-days’ training program on 'Digital Markeng' for second semester MBA students. As part of IIM Indore's 'Internaonal B-Plan Championship -2019', Makeintern & IIM Indore selected 30 summer campus training centers across India and KLS IMER was one among them. Mr. Pranav Nair, Digital Markeng industry expert from Makeintern, Mumbai trained the students Application of TQM in Industry 10th,Januar y-2020 KLS Instute of Management Educaon & Research organized a seminar on applicaon of TQM in industry for the students and faculty m e m b e r s . T h e s e m i n a r h a d t h r e e disnguished speakers. Mr. Jaydeep Lengade, Consultant, Aditya Consultancy spoke on Lean Pracces in the industry. Mr. Surya, Consultant, Mr. Jaydeep Lengade, Aditya Consultancy, Belagavi MNM Enterprises spoke on Six-Sigma. Mr. Nish Sunthankar, registered Consultant and auditor, Quality Council of India spoke on the topic “ISO standards and its implementaon”. Mr. Nagaraj Kulkarni, Head, World Class Manufacturing, HINDALCO, Belagavi, inaugurated the seminar and delivered the key-note address. In his address, he presented various live examples of applicaon in TQM at HINDALCO, Belagavi. The seminar was followed by Poster design compeon on Creave Problem Solving by using QC tools. Mr. Nagaraj Kulkarni, HINDALCO, Belagavi EBSCO Training Program 04th March2020 K L S I M E R 4 T H E H O R I Z O N Managements students of KLS IMER had the opportunity of having hands-on-experience on EBSCO database which is a leading provider of research databases, e-journals, magazine subscripons, e-books and discovery service for academic libraries. Training was provided by Mr. M S Srinivasa, Training manager, EBSCO, Informaon Services, New Delhi. Session was extremely valuable to our students who learnt the importance of usage of E-resources and various tools available on EBSCO plaorm. Workshop on Preparing a report on Business Plan 10th, May 2019 The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development of organized a workshop on “Idenficaon of Business opportunies & Preparaon of Business Plan” on 10th May 2019 for the students who enrolled for One year Open Learning Diploma in Entrepreneurship and Business Management (DEBM) in collaboraon with Entrepreneurship Development Instute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad. Mr. Yashaswi Nag, a resource person of the workshop spoke on the topic design thinking and its applicaon for generang business ideas. He also discussed about preparaon of Detailed Project Report (DPR), according to SIDBI guidelines in order to raise the investments for projects from financial instuons and investors. Students developed a number of business opportunies and prepared a dra of the Detailed Project Report as outcome of the workshop. Autonomy Team Visit 21st & 22nd , Nov 2019 K L S I M E R 5 T H E H O R I Z O N An Expert Commiee constuted by the UGC for granng of an Autonomy consisted of the 5 Members from esteemed posions in academia visited the Instute on 21st and 22nd November, 2019. They looked at all the facilies (for the conduct of curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular acvies); and visited support services like Hostel, Cafeteria, Gymnasium, Sports, Parking, Recreaonal, Rooop solar, Incubaon center etc of the Instuon. It was followed by interacon with all the stake holders i.e., Students, Alumni, Staff and Management. The team inspected all the relevant records and gave valuable feedback and suggesons. UGC - NEW DELHI grantes KLS IMER Autonomous Status for 2020 - 2030 National Industry Tour 21st April,2019 K L S I M E R 61 T H E H O R I Z O N KLS IMER organized a Naonal Level Industry Tour to Kerala where students visited Kitex Limited, Kizhakkambalam that manufactures school bags, travel bags, and umbrellas. Tour also included visit to spice garden to see a variety of spices and medicinal plants accompanied by tour guide who explained the history and importance of spices and herbs while walking through the plantaon. Students enjoyed their visit to Lulu mall which is one of the largest malls in Asia. At M u n n a r, t h e st u d e nt s h a d a n opportunity to visit Tea Processing Factory and Tea Museum of Kannan Devan Hills Plantaon Company Private Limited. The industry tour was indeed an opportunity for MBA students to learn closely about various industries including tourism and spice industry in Kerala. Industrial Visit to Export Oriented Unit (EOU) 23th Januar y, 2020 Students visited Export Oriented Unit at Dana Fairfield Atlas Ltd, Shinoli to understand the export procedure and its documentaon. Students were mainly benefited from detailed understanding of export procedure and export documentaon carried out at Dana through their Export Oriented Unit (EOU). Mr. Nikhil Pal, HR Manager-Strategy, enlightened the students on overview of the firm and its various processes. A Unique Visit to Traffic Management & Enforcement Centre, Belagavi 6th Januar y, 2020 K L S I M E R 7 T H E H O R I Z O N Students visited South Traffic Police Staon, Camp, Belagavi to have an understanding on working of traffic management system and be socially aware about changes in traffic rules, working system and its effecve implementaon. Students had the opportunity to witness live demonstraon of traffic surveillance through 120 cameras spread across enre Belagavi City. Industry Institute Interaction (III) Series 28th December, 2019 Mr. Abhijit Kulkarni, Director- Foods & Refreshment, (Business Head), Board Member, Unilever Thailand at Unilever delivered a talk on the topic “Industry Expectaons from MBA Students”. He narrated students of the importance to keep adding value to oneself and to the organizaon by means of constant learning, unlearning and relearning. He expressed that the appete towards applicaon of knowledge than merely having conceptual understanding has become ‘a must to survive’ in the industry. Above all, its about carrying the right atude that maers in the corporate world and what managers expect”. 16th July,2019 Dr. Pallab Bandyopadhyay, a Leadership Architect, Career Coach, Change and Transion Specialist and a doctoral fellow in HRD from XLRI, Jamshedpur spoke on “What the Industry expects from Management Graduates today”. The session was enriched with loads of relevant data from world reports with mind boggling facts and figures.
