This program is for children who are 4 years old through 6 years old who will be either attending Kindergarten in September 2014 or have just completed Kindergarten. The children will enjoy a variety of activities throughout the day, including arts and crafts, games, outdoor play, story time, and lots more. During the day we will have a snack time. (Please send children with an appropriate snack.) CHILDREN MUST BE POTTY TRAINED – NO EXCEPTIONS

July 9 - August 13 The Raynham Park & Recreation Department, in collaboration with the Edgewood Pool and Tennis Club, will be offering a community tennis program. This program will be directed by Zach Engstrom, the Edgewood tennis pro who has been teaching tennis since 2007. Zach competed for UMass Dartmouth collegiately and has experience teaching at several surrounding clubs. As a member of the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR – a globally recognized teaching organization), he boasts a unique set of skills and experience. His focus is development of tennis skill, etiquette, competition, and passion for all the game has to offer. This recreation program is for all abilities and is an introduction to the great game of tennis. The classes will be held at the Edgewood Pool and Tennis Club, 266 Pleasant Street, Raynham. Pee Wee Tennis This is a fun and active introduction to tennis, using modified racquets, lightweight balls, and mini-nets specifically designed for this age group. Future Stars Offers fun court games, additional instruction, developing footwork, with an emphasis on serving, scoring, and an introduction to competitive play. For Boys & Girls, Grades 2 - 5 Activities Raynham Youth Lacrosse coaching staff is offering lacrosse clinics for children who would like to learn the basics and develop their skills. The program is appropriate for beginners who would like an introduction to Lacrosse. Instruction will focus on passing, catching, and shooting. Program will be held at the Raynham Middle School. ADULT GOLF CLINIC ... July 21 - August 11 Olde Scotland Links in conjunction with the Raynham Park and Recreation Department is offering a 4 week golf clinic with Club instructor Dick Sarkesian. This basic skills clinic will teach both beginner and experienced players the mechanics of the golf swing, proper techniques for different aspects of the game, including long game, short game and sand shots. This program is ideal for beginner golfers as well as players who want to fine tune their swing mechanics. The class will be held at Olde Scotland Links, 695 Pine Street, Bridgewater. SENIOR WALKING GROUP ... The Raynham Park and Recreation Department and the Raynham Council on Aging are offering a walking group on Monday mornings. The walking group meets every Monday at 9:30 am at the Raynham Senior Center, 2215 King Philip Street, weather permitting. Walking areas are available for different walking levels. Pre-registration is not required and the program is free to Raynham residents. Day/Time: Mondays / 9:30 am Cost: FREE SPECIAL Events NEW YORK CITY STATUE OF LIBERTY & ELLIS ISLAND TRIP ... Saturday, July 12 Join the Raynham Park and Recreation Department for a tour of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The trip includes deluxe motorcoach transportation to New Jersey’s Liberty Park and the ferry to Ellis Island and round-trip ferry to Liberty Island. Advanced reservations and payment are required. Call the Park and Recreation Office for more detailed information. Departure time approximately 6:00 am, location TBA. ALL CHILDREN MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT. ROCKPORT & GLOUCESTER ... Saturday, July 19 This trip includes deluxe motorcoach transportation to Gloucester for a tour of historic Gloucester and the harbor area. The tour will then stop for lunch at the famous Gloucester House Restaurant for a choice of fresh baked haddock or roast sirloin. Next stop Rockport – visit this fascinating, quaint harbor and shop area. Tour escort throughout. Morning department and early evening return. Times and location TBA. MARTHA’S VINEYARD ... Saturday, July 26... This trip to Martha’s Vineyard includes deluxe motorcoach transportation and ferry transportation to the island. Participants will enjoy a half-day narrated sightseeing excursion that includes visits to Edgartown and Oak Bluffs. There will be free time for shopping and lunch on your own. TAUNTON RIVER KAYAK TOUR ... Saturday, August 2 ... 10 am - 1 pm Join the Raynham Park and Recreation Department and Nemansket Kayak for a guided tour of the Taunton River. The Taunton River flows through 43 cities and towns, and is the second largest watershed in Massachusetts with tributaries including the Nemasket, Town, Winnetuxet, Mill, Three Mill, Segreganset and Assonet Rivers. With 27 different habitat types and diverse including some globally rare wildlife such as otters, long-eared owls, herring, Atlantic sturgeon, apple green orchids and grasshopper sparrows, each turn brings a new vista. River awareness comes alive as you glide smoothly and quietly down the Taunton. As part of the Wampanoag traditional canoe passage used to migrate from Scituate to Dighton Rock in Berkley, you will pass numerous historic industrial sites, a vast variety of wildlife and spectacular views of woodland, sky and open water. All equipment rentals are included; single and double kayaks are available. ALL CHILDREN MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT. BEFORE SCHOOL CHILD CARE This program is located at the LaLiberte School and L.B. Merrill Schools. Children are dropped off by parents at the school as early as 7:00 am. The children participate in quiet activities along with a light breakfast. The students are dismissed or bused to their designated school for the start of the school day. Cost: $40 (5 days)

AFTER SCHOOL CHILD CARE Children in Grades K-8 arrive at LaLiberte School from their assigned schools each afternoon. The program is available from school dismissal until 6:00 pm. The program consists of snack time, games, arts and crafts, gym time and homework help. Space is limited.
