Brazilian Processed Plastic Industry at Pack Expo Las Vegas 2017

Brazilian manufacturers will feature the technology and innovation in packaging from Brazil at Pack Expo Las Vegas, to be held from September 25 – 27 2017 at Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, NV USA. Amongst Think Plastic Brazil’s participant companies exhibiting at the show are Cartonale; Cromex; Europackne; FFS Filmes; GDM; Valfilm; Videplast; Vitopel and Zaraplast S/A.

Export figures

Processed Plastic Exports from Brazil to USA in 2016 reached almost USD108,5 million, 9,7% of the total USD1,1 billion commercialized worldwide by the country in that year. USA is the third largest destination of Brazilian products from this segment, after Argentina (USD209,5 million) and The Netherlands (USD154,4 million).

Cartonale

Cartonale produces plastic corrugated in sheets, forms, and containers in many standard and custom sizes and strengths. Customers may also choose color and print styles. Cromex

Cromex produces color and additives masterbatch. For more than 40 years in the market, the company has a 132-thousand-metric ton production capacity. Acting on a global level, Cromex commercializes its products with more than 60 countries in Latin America,

Its has two production plants, one in São Paulo (SP) and one in Simões Filho (BA), generating more than 500 direct jobs and is also ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certified. More than 13 thousand colors and additives are found in its portfolio, which are developed in its own laboratories in order to attend 18 different industries in the plastics segment, such as plastics, toys, packaging, caps & closures (food, beverages, personal care, house ware, construction, automotive, agro business).

Europackne

Part of the Packing Group, that produces 60 thousand tons/year of Stretch Film and 80 thousand tons/year of Polyethylene Industrial Films in 4 different locations in Brazil. The group has nanolayer technology, capable to provide a differentiated technical support, with a specialized after-sales area, which ensures greater performance and efficiency in consumption. It also provides the uniqueness of the High Light machine, an equipment to make advanced quality testing; drawing, drilling, charge retention, impact and tear, which enables to develop films for each specific application, generating economy.

Valfilm is specialized in the development, manufacture and commercialization of polyethylene flexible packaging. To keep the high level of quality and productive improvement, the company is ISO 9001:2008 certified. Sampling tests are performed in the production line, assuring the products traceability from receipt of all raw materials to the delivery of the final product to the customer.

Vitopel

Vitopel is the largest manufacturer of BOPP in Latin America and one of the largest in the world. It has been exporting regularly to USA, Canada and México and Central America,

as well as to the European Union, supplying major global end users in the food and non food industries, and top converters that supply these sectors. Vitopel has offices in Sao Paulo, as well as agents and distributors in all countries where it has export sales operations. Vitopel has a dedicated full R&D Center, equipped with a pilot line, which is used to develop and test new BOPP structures for a variety of new applications.
