Any changes or updates to this guide will be featured in the Class of 2014 email newsletter: Dear Class of 2014,

In the four years since we entered the Yard, we have witnessed extraordinary developments within the Harvard community, beyond its gates, and within ourselves. From freshman seminars to senior theses, intro meetings to leadership roles, and life in the Yard to our upperclass Houses, we have been challenged to think deeper and enhance our understanding of others. As a Class, we have traveled across campus and around the globe, broadening our own horizons and putting lessons into practice. We have sought opportunities to give back and to promote social change. We have achieved tremendous scholastic, extracurricular, athletic, and personal successes. And somehow along the way, we have also found the time to enjoy college life. We have formed friendships that will last a lifetime. Now is a time for us to celebrate these accomplishments, reflect with pride and gratitude on our time at Harvard, and look confidently ahead to the years to come.

But first, in only a few weeks, we will once again find ourselves the only undergraduates on campus. And now that we’re nearing the end, I’ve come to realize that there are fewer differences between Camp Harvard and Senior Week than I might have expected. Yes, rather than being welcomed to the College and settling in, we will be packing up and heading off into life as alumni. Yet, just like we found it in August 2010 during Opening Days, Harvard will be entirely ours, perhaps more than ever. There are still new friends to be made, laughs to be shared, and memories to be created. As is always the case here, there is more to be learned, too. And there is still more fun to be had.

With this in mind, your Senior Class Committee and the Harvard Alumni Association have organized the events outlined in this booklet. From roller coasters and soirées to luaus and athletic competitions, these events will surely be some of the most fun and memorable of our time here. Take advantage of these opportunities to bond with friends and classmates and create memories that you’ll talk about not just the morning after but also at our Fifth, Twenty-fifth, and Fiftieth Reunions.

And no matter where you find yourself after Commencement, always remember that Harvard— especially the Class of 2014—will be there for you as a source of support and community. Stay connected with one another and with our Class, and remember that our website (harvard14.org), class newsletters, regional Facebook groups and mailing lists, and local Harvard Clubs and Shared Interest Groups will be great sources of news, events, and connections in your new homes.

Make the most of the coming days and weeks—you have more than earned them. And don’t forget that once our Harvard bubble bursts, there is a whole world out there. I can’t wait to see all the ways each of you makes it a better place.

Wishing you all the very best,

Michelle Dimino, 2014 Class Secretary [email protected]

A CAUTIONARY WORD ABOUT ALCOHOL AND IDENTIFICATION

As you all know by now, you must be at least 21 years old in order to be served alcohol. Anyone who wishes to drink a beverage containing alcohol may do so only if he or she is able to produce a valid state- or government-issued photo ID. In compliance with the law of the Commonwealth of , the College and its agents will not serve alcoholic beverages to any student or other individual below the legal age. Your birth date appears on your College ID; however, this is not a valid ID for proof of age. Seniors should carry both a valid College ID and state- or government-issued ID at all Senior Week events. If you wish to drink alcohol at any of the events where alcohol will be served, you must be prepared to show your state driver’s license, a state liquor ID, or a valid passport. For the Moonlight Cruise and Last Chance Dance, you will need at least one of the IDs listed above in addition to your Harvard ID to be admitted. No one is allowed to bring alcohol to any of the events described in this book. Additionally, the presentation of false identification will be, as always, considered a violation of University rules and Massachusetts law. Students violating these rules will be subject to disciplinary sanctions. Because of the liability involved, any obvious or widespread violation of the regulations could result in the cancellation of subsequent events.
