Tiger Woods headlines the Notah Begay III (NB3) Foundation Challenge on July 5 at Turning Stone Resort's Atunyote Club. Woods will be joined that day by rising PGA star Rickie Fowler and NFL quarterbacks Tony Romo (Dallas Cowboys) and Sam Bradford (St. Louis Rams).

Woods, the most recognizable name in golf and winner of 14 majors and 71 titles on the PGA Tour, last appeared in Vernon in August 2009, when he competed in another NB3 event. He won nine skins in that challenge.

He participated in last year's NB3 challenge and was subsequently named to the United States Ryder Cup team.

"Everything that can be said about Tiger probably has already been said," Halbritter said. "But Rickie Fowler is one of the upcoming stars of the PGA Tour who I think will make his mark in the near future."

Begay will also play in the 2011 challenge. Three other athletes and/or entertainers will be added to the field and announced at a later date.

The format features a two-person, best ball 18-hole shootout. Begay's foundation raises money to help improve the health and wellness of Native American youth on Indian reservations nationwide.
