When a sporting event is contested within this framework, there are only winners – on and off the golf course – no matter what the outcome of the competition. he Presidents Cup has grown from little more than an idea in the early 1990s to one of the most anticipated T events on golf’s global calendar. Along the way, this world-class competition has not only brought together the game’s best, but also has established itself as an event that stands for international goodwill and a positive, charitable impact across the globe. Unlike most sporting events, players are not paid for their participation in the Presidents Cup; there is no purse or prize money. Instead, each competitor designates charities or golf-related projects of his choice to receive a portion of the funds raised through the staging of each Presidents Cup. With players, captains and captains’ assistants hailing from dozens of countries, their donations have positively impacted a variety of charitable causes around the world. From funding for teachers and facilities in earthquake-ravaged Haiti to support for programs that bring golf to the disabled in South Africa; from providing school lunches for underprivileged children in Korea to awarding scholarships for children of fallen California firefighters; from helping to upgrade a Ronald McDonald House in Florida, to doing the same for a facility on the other side of the world in Australia – these are but a few examples of the myriad ways those involved in the Presidents Cup have been able to affect change in their communities, home countries and globally. In addition, the PGA TOUR makes donations to growth-of-the-game initiatives and charities in areas where the Presidents Cup has been hosted, such as South African Golf Development following the 2003 event; the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal in Queensland and New Zealand Earthquake disaster as part of the 2011 Presidents Cup in Australia; to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, in 2013; and to the establishment of The First Tee Korea after the 2015 event. This commitment to the local community ensures that the impact of the Presidents Cup is felt long after the last putt drops. In total, more than US$38.4 million has been distributed to more than 450 charities in 15 countries since the inception of the Presidents Cup in 1994, including a record-setting US$6 million from the 2015 event alone. More profound than dollar figures, however, are the emotions expressed in the following thank-you notes, photos and testimonials, which do more to tell the story of the Presidents Cup than any final score or trophy shot ever could. Mr. Cink,

Hello! My name is Jessica Quiggle. Big Oak Ranch has been my home for almost eight years. I am a senior at Auburn University, and I am 23 years old. If it were not for the ranch, I would not be able to say that I am a student anywhere. When my younger sister and I moved to the Girls’ Ranch we had never been given the privilege of going to school. We were very far behind and could not even read. I started out in resource classes when I first went to Westbrook Christian School – that was the fall after I turned sixteen. After a semester and a summer of those classes I wanted to be moved into regular classes. The thought of me in regular class was hard to process for some, but that is what I wanted to try and I was allowed to. I caught up 9 years of schooling in 4 years. I graduated from Westbrook with my class as a member of the Beta Club. It was a lot of hard work and very discouraging at some points, but because I had my Big Oak family behind me cheering for me and helping me, I was successful at reach that goal I had set for myself. If it was not for Mr. John and Mrs. Tee starting the Ranch I would have had nowhere to go or anyone to help me. I am very grateful to the Ranch for giving me the chance to reach my dreams – and that would not have been possible without the generous support of people like you enabling them to do just that. Big Oak Ranch will always be my home, and I would not have it any other way. Thank you!

Dear Fred:

It is with gratitude and deep appreciation that we thank you for your generous donation to The Farrah Fawcett Foundation. By supporting the legacy of one of american’s most memorable icons, we are able to continue the passionate work that Ms. Fawcett started shortly after she was diagnosed with Anal Cancer in 2006.

The Farrah Fawcett Foundation supports innovative and dynamic cancer research. In 2009, Ms. Fawcett lost her battle to cancer. She wondered why there was not more research done on certain types of cancers. In accomplishing this goal, we recently teamed up with Stand Up 2 Cancer to form a Translational Research that focuses on all finding a cure for not only anal cancer, but other lesser researched cancers as well. Your

Our current goal is to double the grant amount to SU2C in the next two years. donation will help us achieve that goal and get us closer to finding a cure for this much underserved area of cancer.

In addition to this, the FFF also promotes prevention by supporting cancer lifestyle education and seeks to help patients in need. Seven patient assistance funds are now in different treatment centers around the country.

Thank you for this much needed support.

Warm Regards,

Alana Stewart President, The Farrah Fawcett Foundation

To Zach & Kim Johnson and the PGA Tour family, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Cedar Rapids could not be more grateful for the donations bestowed upon us by the Foundation, and we’d like to specifically thank Zach for earmarking his portion of the proceeds from The Presidents Cup 2009. When the partnership first started we had high hopes of making improvements to an old building, infusing it with new opportunities with a Teen Center, more supplies and updated materials for programming, just to name a few. However Mother Nature had a different plan for not only the Club but for Cedar Rapids. In June of 2008, Cedar Rapids experienced a catastrophic flood that claimed our building along with thousands of homes and businesses. How would we recover? Zach & Kim Johnson, their personal dedication and that of the foundation is how we would recover. The first day that we could re-enter the building, Dalton (whose letter I have enclosed) said to me “I lost my house, but I lost my home”. That is true Club impact on a child’s life. He was more worried about the home of the Club then the place he slept at night. Not only have Zach & Kim helped through the Birdies That Care Foundation but they also helped in various ways throughout our corridor area. They were gracious enough to choose the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cedar Rapids for two years in row. Because of their dedication, along with many of their supporters, we made it through a natural disaster no one ever dreamed of. We are now serving more youth than prior to the flood, in all areas of our community. Without the financial support and leadership of Zach & Kim we wouldn’t have recovered as quickly as we did. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank the Johnsons, The Presidents Cup and the PGA Tour fami ly. - Sincerely, Ainsley Hogan Development Coordinator

To and The President’s Cup organisers

Dear Tony,

We would like to thank you most sincerely for your generous donation to the Zimbabwe Conservation Task Force. We are a voluntary group and if it weren’t for people like you and the Presidents Cup organisers and participants, we wouldn’t be able to achieve anything at all. In 2001, we were very concerned because the so called war vets were slaughtering all the animals on the private game farms here so we decided to form the task force to try and preserve the wildlife. Unfortunately, largely due to lack of funding, by 2002, almost 90% of the animals on the private game farms had been slaughtered. However, we continued to do everything in our power to assist the remaining wildlife. To name a few examples, in 2005, Hwange National Park was in danger of collapsing. The man-made water holes were all bone dry and the animals were dying of thirst and dehydration and National Parks didn’t have the funding to start up the pumps to pump water into the holes. We raised funds and purchased 16 000 litres of fuel which we personally took up to Hwange and started the pumps again. Many animals were saved by doing this. We also noticed that there was only one vehicle operation in the whole park so we raised funds again and purchased spare parts and tyres to get more vehicles operational. We also bought new pumps and engines for the water holes because most of them were not working either. We actually spent 2 years travelling to South Africa to buy spares and equipment. On numerous occasions, we have purchased milk and food to feed orphaned baby rhinos and elephant. We have also hired game capture units to move animals out of farms that were under seige to safer places. It is only through the generosity of people like you that we have been able to do these things. We rely on donations to do our work so we are extremely grateful to you for helping.

Dear Mr. Shigeki Maruyama

Four years have passed since my son and I participated in Shigeki Maruyama Junior Foundation Golf- Tournament. I cannot forget the impact when we joined the event for the first time. Different from other matches in Japan, we can be instructed by many top professionals gathered through your person al connections in Shigeki Maruyama Junior Foundation Golf Tournament. The experience of being instructed by professionals whom we could only see on TV is still a treasure of my son. - In addition, different from US golf circumstances, Japanese junior golfers cannot feel free to play a round due to the costs and also psychologically. But your 58 golf clubs are open to all the junior play ers in and out of the prefecture free of charge. There is no such golf course in Japan as far as I know.- You are an essential existence for Japanese junior golf and for the development of golf in Japan. From this year, Shigeki Maruyama Junior Foundation Golf Tournament ads new matches for begin ners and is growing more and more. I pray for your activities after this and for the growth of Japan’s junior golf.

Hideki Matsuyama is a professional golfer most notable for both his achievements on the PGA Tour and representing Japan. He attended the Tohoku Fukushi University in Miyagi, JPN, an area deeply affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake & Tsunami in March of 2011. Since the Great Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami, Hideki participated in many relief projects with his university peers. These volunteering activities included housing refinement, primary education, elderly support, health counsell ing, concerts, seminars, and many additional activities. Furthermore, Hideki established the Tohoku Fukushi University to support various projects by donating part of his earnings from playing a‘Great East Japan Disaster Victim Relief Fund’ professional on Tour. As such, he decided to donate the charitable component received from playing in along with the the 2015 Presidents Cup to this Fund. s a

In 2015, Hideki used his funds to invite 50 child victims to a golf tournament held in Fukushima, Japan where he participated as a host (the Dunlop Srixon Fukushima Open). Hideki truly believes that every form of charity and volunteering can accomplish great outcomes.

Even now, Hideki constantly advocates that the world should not forget the events that occurred 5

ago and trying to courage the victims through his performance on the PGA Tour, as well as participating in a charity event whenever he has a chance when returning to JPN. years

! ! To The Presidents Cup,

Thank you very much for the kind donation of $10 000 that The Presidents Cup has made to South Africa’s National Sea Rescue Institute.

As Mark McNaulty met our volunteer Sea Rescue crews when he was diving off Shelly Beach, on the KZN South Coast, will use the funds at that station.

We have had a number of incidents of divers who have been lost by their dive boats because of the incredibly strong currents that run down that coastline. This happens especially at the reef known as Protea Banks, one of the top dive sites in the world, where divers watch sharks while scuba diving.

Because of these Sea Rescue call outs, and the fact that Mark instigated the kind donation from The Presidents Cup, we have decided to allocate the funds to improving the radio communication network by building new towers and relay stations to facilitate better communications at sea.

This donation will allow us to communicate from our bases at Shelly Beach and Port Edward to rescue vessels at sea off the South Coast.

We are sure that if divers should be lost in that area again, this improved communication network will help us to more effectively co-ordinate searches and therefore find them faster.

Kind Regards, !

Dr Cleeve Robertson NSRI CEO. !

Dear PGA TOUR and The Presidents Cup, - “When darkness is all one can see and a light appears unexpectedly, being thankful should always be our first thought.” For nearly thirteen years our family went in and out of darkness as we experienced mul tiple diagnoses of cancer in both of our children. They were years filled with turmoil and many feared uncertainties that are beyond description. Throughout the many days and nights spent in hospitals and testing facilities we constantly asked in private: “Is anyone out there trying to fix this?” Several years ago our question was answered in a resounding way. In 2005, our son Gregory at age 16 was again diagnosed with cancer. We were aware of his prognosis however never lost hope for something positive to be brought into our lives. For years prior to this, through his first cancer at age 3 and his sister’s cancer at age 8, many of our private Mother/Son- discussions were centered around Gregory’s hopeful thought that people were out there, working hard, dedicating themselves, to find cures for kids with cancer. He was very saddened by watching other chil dren go through what he knew himself to be a horrible experience. Gregory envisioned a world where no child would die from cancer; that every child would be cured. Little did Gregory know that he and golf’s great legend, Greg Norman, shared the same vision. On November 9, 2006 Gregory was introduced to his fellow visionary by being honored at The Shark Shootout as a guest speaker. On this night he was given the opportunity to publicly tell our- family’s story, his story, to a room filled with some of the world’s most talented and admired PGA TOUR golfers, including host Greg Norman. After Gregory’s speech he was quoted as saying that it was “prob ably the best night of my life”. He described his feeling of floating on a cloud when the room erupted into a standing ovation. “It was a feeling of; I can’t believe I’m here. It is such a big honor to be up there talking to all of these people. It was different because of who was there and the number but I tried to treat it the same as I would if I was talking to someone one-on-one.” As I read the words my son spoke, I again see something that Greg Norman and my son shared in common: both grounded and focused people, advocating for a cause, seeing everyone as a welcomed guest. As I type Gregory’s quoted words recollecting my recent meetings with other past Shootout honorees I clearly see the absolute magnitude of this event and how Greg Norman’s generosity has transformed lives. - In early 2007, shortly after Gregory’s experience at The Shark Shootout, my son formed a small foundation, to raise his own voice, sharing Greg Norman’s passion, helping to raise money for pedi atric childhood cancer cures. Gregory’s life was transformed that November evening, no longer dreaming his dream but realizing and living it as he witnessed the philanthropy of Greg Norman. Ten months after Gregory gave his speech to Greg Norman and fellow PGA TOUR golfers, cancer took my son’s life however it did not take away his passion or his dreams nor did it not stop two strong souls from joining forces supporting a tremendous cause. Mr. Norman’s generosity towards the CureSearch cause through his annual Shark Shootout and the 2009 Presidents Cup Matches has touched, currently touches and will touch in the future and cannot be measured. The magnitude of his generosity is resounding. The mantra for my son’s foundation is: “What We Do in Life Echoes in Eternity”. Greg Norman is absolute proof that this philosophy is alive and well in our world today. I believe I can speak for all families whose child has battled cancer in saying a resounding “Thank you” to Greg Norman for his dedication supporting CureSearch for Children’s Cancer. Through- his leadership involving his fellow PGA TOUR golfers, with sportsman-like competition for a greater purpose, he has raised millions of dollars bringing us closer to REACH THE DAY when every child who is diag nosed with cancer will be cured.

Most Sincerely and Gratefully, Ann Weber Lang

Mr. Adam Scott The Adam Scott Foundation PO Box 671 Sanctuary Cove QLD 4212

Dear Adam, I would like to thank you for the opportunity presented to me as the inaugural Adam Scott Foundation Scholarship Winner 3 years ago. The foundation has become a wonderful family to me. ASF granted me the opportunity to gain the necessary education that is required to be a successful club manager. As you have always said to me, the aim of the Adam Scott Foundation Scholarship is to help disadvantaged people to achieve their goals and dreams in the field of sports management. I had a very tough time through my childhood in having to deal with very ill parents. My mother and father both battled serious illnesses at times throughout my childhood. The opportunity of an education was something that I had always hoped for and it not only gave me hope but it also spread happiness within my family. I originally learned about the Foundation in 2007 when I was looking to continue my educa tion in the field of golf management. After the application process I was thrilled when I was notified that I would be the inaugural Adam Scott Foundation Scholarship Recipient. - The ASF Scholarship allowed me the financial support that I needed to complete the Bachelor of Business degree in sports management at Griffith University and also a diploma of golf management at the PGA International Golf Institute (PGA IGI) on the Gold Coast.

The support that you, Geoff Hall, and your entire advisory board have provided during my degree was unbelievable. The experiences and education have given me a solid foundation and back ground for my career. I have recently been hired as a trainee manager at the Brisbane Golf Club. - Of special note, I know the US PGA TOUR has been a great supporter of your charity through donations for each year you have been a part of the Presidents Cup teams to date. In addition to your support, I want to also personally thank the TOUR for changing lives in our Australia community. Without their support I wouldn’t have had the same opportunity in achieving my education. Adam, thank you for being the vision in developing the Adam Scott Foundation. The expe riences I have had over the past three years will stay with me forever. I look forward to giving back and lending support to other potential ASF scholarship recipients. I am proud to be a part of the ASF family.-

Mr. Vijay Singh,

The Jacksonville University men’s and women’s golf teams are greatly appreciative of the donations you have made to our programs throughout the years. -

Most recently, through the generosity of the Vijay Singh Foundation – and money received via your par ticipation in The Presidents Cup – JU was able to purchase a new van for the teams to travel in, giving them a safe and comfortable environment to travel to events as well as allowing them a place to study while away from the classroom.

Without donations like these, JU Athletics would not be able to achieve the record amount of success it has seen in the past six years – winning 32 conference or state championships, the most of any school in the state of Florida during that time.

We are grateful of our relationship and you will always have a special place in our program.

Meet Marcus: “My Experience at the Tiger Woods Learning Center has been beyond phenomenal. Since the first day of class in Video Production, I knew it would be an experience I would remember for the rest of my life. I was able to master the craft of video editing using Adobe software and guidance from the most dedicated TWLC staff. These extracurricular activities kept me out of trouble. The center also provided a warm and welcoming environment that encourages learning, making it a second home for me.
