An electric fuel gauge sending unit is mounted on the right side of the tank. A shut-off valve is located directly beneath the fuel tank. The fuel tank outlet pipe connects to the diaphragm-type fuel pump (Fig. 80-10-2), mounted on the right side of the engine, and driven by the engine camshaft. Fuel flows from the tank to the inlet side of the pump through pipe "A". A sediment bowl on the pump filters out foreign particles or dirt from the fuel before it is pumped through pipe "B" to the carburetor, on the left side of the engine.
