CALL FOR PROPOSALS by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) and The Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) and The Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (AS CR) under the framework of “The Protocol on Cooperation in Science and Technology Between The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) and Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic signed in Ankara on 2 June 2010 and in Prague on 22 June 2010, invite Turkish universities, research centres and institutes and institutes of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic to submit joint proposals for scientific and technological research projects. GUIDELINES FOR PROPOSAL SUBMISSION · The partners should come to an agreement with each other using their own means of communication and jointly develop and complete their project proposal before submitting it to TÜBİTAK and AS CR. TÜBİTAK and the AS CR do not match the collaborating partners. · The proposals should be prepared in English. · Project proposals must provide detailed information on the objectives and justification of the planned joint research work, the methodology to be followed, the composition of each research team and the intended time schedule. · The relevant application forms (distributed by TÜBİTAK and AS CR) which are approved the by the heads of institutions of the project co-directors should be duly filled and submitted to TÜBİTAK and to AS CR for evaluation and approval. · Curricula vitae of both research teams should be attached. · The duration of the projects should not exceed two years and the total duration of visits in one direction of a project should not be more than two months a year, with a total quota of six months a year for all the supported joint research projects. · The call for proposals will be announced on 05 June 2012 and the deadline for submission is 01 September 2012. · Submission of proposals by fax or e-mail is not allowed. · The Turkish coordinator must submit one hard copy and one CD of the proposal to: The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) International Cooperation Department Address: Atatürk Bulvarı No: 221 06100 Kavaklıdere Ankara, Turkey Telephone: + 90 312 427 50 39 + 90 312 468 53 00 /1986 Fax: + 90 312 427 74 83 E-mail: [email protected] The Czech coordinator must submit one hard copy and electronic copy to: The Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (AS CR) Address : Národní 3, 117 20 Praha 1 Fax : 420 224 240 531 E-mail : [email protected], [email protected], The present call for proposals and the application forms for Turkish side are retrievable from the TUBITAK web site at the address http://www.tubitak.gov.tr/uidb/ikili The present call for proposals and the application forms for the Czech side are retrievable from the AS CR web site at the address http://int.avcr.cz/index.html EVALUATION OF PROPOSALS · Only jointly submitted proposals will be eligible for evaluation. · The proposals will be independently evaluated and approved by TÜBİTAK and the AS CR following their own rules and regulations. · Only the project proposals which are approved by TÜBİTAK and AS CR will be supported. Project funding is expected to start on 1 June 2013. FINANCIAL CONDITIONS The costs of exchange of experts, scientists and other specialists will be covered on the following basis: 1. The sending Party provides the international transportation return fares for its scientists to the place where the joint work will be executed; 2. The sending Party shall be responsible for the emergency health insurance of its scientists, including medical care; 3. The receiving Party will cover the costs of daily allowances and lodging as well as costs of inter-city travels in connection with approved programmes of the visits. However, conference fees are not covered. The scientists will receive daily allowance as follows: In Turkey: 20,- Euro per day (paid in local currency according to the daily rate) TÜBİTAK also pays the accommodation cost of the visiting scientist. In Czech Republic: 507,- CZK per day with visits up to 21 days including 13.700,- CZK per month with visits one month and longer AS CR also pays the accommodation of the visiting scientists. Besides the above-mentioned support for exchange of project researchers, the Parties may provide additional research funds to their respective project teams, if they consider it appropriate. Equal funding of either side is desirable..
