BISHOP ALLEN ACADEMY CATHOLIC SECONDARY SCHOOL · 721 ROYAL YORK RD., ETOBICOKE · 416-393-5549 SLAM SLAM (Servant Leaders and Mentors) ended its third year with a new clarity in where it will go in future years. While in the past, SLAM has focused on building community (our students often call this “bonding”), in the years to come SLAM will focus more on inner growth as well as service to the community. At our Leaders’ Retreat at Muskoka Woods this was largely the message we delivered: we are looking for leaders who will not define themselves by external accomplishments (or, more specifically, academic averages), but by their own inner worth and how they can offer SLAM Colour Bombs at Muskoka Woods that service to others. This will be a significant transition for students who become SLAM leaders in the future but, we believe, one that has the potential to most significantly transform lives.
