Forms of nomination for Parish Elections may be obtained from Clerks to Parish Councils or the Returning Officer, West Devon Borough Council, Kilworthy Park, Tavistock, Devon, PL19 0BZ who will, at the request of an elector for any electoral area prepare a nomination paper for signature. 2. Nomination papers must be hand delivered to the Returning Officer, West Devon Borough Council (mezzanine above reception), Kilworthy Park, Tavistock, Devon, PL19 0BZ, between the hours of 10 am and 4 pm, on any day (excluding weekends and bank holidays) from the date of this notice but no later than 4 pm on Wednesday, 3rd April 2019. 3. If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday, 2nd May 2019. 4. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes or changes to existing proxy voting arrangements must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Kilworthy Park, Tavistock, Devon, PL19 0BZ by 5 pm on Monday, 15th April 2019. 5. Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Kilworthy Park, Tavistock, Devon, PL19 0BZ by 5 pm on Wednesday, 24th April 2019. 6. Applications to vote by proxy at this election applied for on grounds of physical incapacity, where that physical incapacity occurred after 5 pm on Wednesday, 24th April 2019, must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Kilworthy Park, Tavistock, Devon, PL19 0BZ by 5 pm on Thursday, 2nd May 2019. 7. Applications to vote by proxy at this election applied for on grounds of occupation, service or employment, where the applicant became aware of those grounds after 5 pm on Wednesday, 24th April 2019, must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Kilworthy Park, Tavistock, Devon, PL19 0BZ by 5 pm on Thursday, 2nd May 2019. 8. In subsequent years additional select purchases were made from Haylane and Woodhayes. They have always purchased the best quality cattle to create the Kingsmeade herd. The herd are grazed at Kingsmeade Farm, Williton, Taunton, Somerset and loosed housed on straw in the winter months and fed conservation hay in the lead up to calving. The farm has never had a case of TB and was pre movement tested on 3rd/6th July. There has never been any known issues of any health problems in the herd and they have always been careful in selecting to purchase from Hi Health status herds and have only bought foster calves from a Hi Health nearby dairy unit. The young heifers were injected with Bovella on 23rd January and had a clear blood test.

Sadly, this is an ongoing problem. There are two articles after the Clerk’s Report about this important issue, which relate directly to our parish. Thanks must go to those volunteers who are giving up their own time to protect our livestock and, it must be said, US! Who knows how long it will be before another member of the public is a victim of those who continue to put their own needs first before the safety of all? On a lighter note, there are lots of interesting reports in this issue, which bear testament to all those other volunteers who work hard to stage events and entertainment for our benefit. The winter issue of the Burrator Beacon will be published at the end of November. Deadline for copy will be Tuesday 6th November, at the latest. That issue will cover the months up until the end of February 2019. Don’t forget, this is your magazine for your parish, so we would like to hear from you! Do consider writing a piece about any of the events you have participated in, or visited, in our area. We need to spread the word about all the great things that happen around here.     Your Future Care Post-consultation Report 23 February 2017 1 Executive Summary In October 2016, NHS Northern, Eastern and Western Devon Clinical Commissioning Group (NHS NEW Devon CCG) launched a public consultation on the reduction of community hospital beds in Eastern Devon, accompanied by the development of a model of care throughout Northern, Eastern and Western Devon designed to shift the focus of services to integrated local care in people’s own homes. The ‘Your Future Care’ consultation ran for 13 weeks from 7 October 2016 until 6 January 2017, seeking views of people throughout the area on the proposed change to the model of care, and in particular the options for the remaining 72 inpatient beds in community hospitals in Eastern Devon. The overall aim for the consultation was to understand: How the model can improve care for people Where inpatient beds should be located Which services should be prioritised when resources are limited Throughout the consultation period there were: 16 public consultation events, 27 community roadshows and 18 pop-ins, designed to both give information and hear people’s views. The CCG also attended 15 other council and community meetings. In total more than 2000 people attended these events and discussed the proposals. Local Healthwatch (Devon) in its role as independent consumer champion for health and social care attended the majority of these events, to observe the process and directly listen to what participants had to say. The consultation documents were published on the Your Future Care web pages with 10,700 hits. More than 14,000 hard copy consultation documents and 55,000 summary consultation documents were distributed during the consultation period.
