FVRA Membership

In spite of the late start for membership collections (for which we apologise), the 2009 collections are going very well and we are pleased to welcome many new members. We are still short of a collector for Ashfold Avenue and we would like to lighten the load for some collectors whom we feel are doing more than their fair share. They themselves have not complained – bless them!

HOW GREEN WAS MY VALLEY We came to the Findon Valley in September 1946, my mother having previously owned and named “The Smugglers”, Sompting. The war was over, but still sniffing at our heels, with rationing of everything from food and clothing to petrol, coal and wood for building. My father had been with the War Agricultural Committee for East and West Sussex based in Lewes, as he was a lecturer at Plumpton College.
