Hollingbury Park Golf Course "Municipal Golf Course"

This excellent 18-hole pay-as-you-play golf course is owned and run by Brighton and Hove Council. Hollingbury Park Golf Course is located amidst spectacular downland scenery and provides full clubhouse facilities. Some of the holes, however, involve steep climbs where a trolley is a hindrance, so unless you can carry your own bag, not worth by Nigel Cox attempting. Booking in advance is advisable on weekends.

Brighton & Hove Golf Club "Playing Golf"

Established in 1887, this remains a members club and is actually on land that is owned by the club members. Membership is obtained by way of a proposal system so unless you already know a member you will have to pay a green fee and then get to know people in the clubhouse after your round. There are a ladies section, a Veterans section (over 60s) and a by Dave Spicer Junior section (under 19s) taught by the club's resident professional. There are competitions throughout the year that encompass all sections. As the course is high on the there are very few days in the year when it is unsuitable for a round. There are a range of membership fees.
