The context of the Interreg V-A Slovakia-Hungary In the 2014-2020 programming period of the European Union, the cohesion policy is the main investment instrument for supporting the main priorities of the Union as envisaged in the Europe 2020 Strategy, i.e. smart, sustainable and inclusive growth and linked targets. The European Territorial Cooperation is one of the goals of cohesion policy and provides a framework for cooperation on internal borders of the EU. In line with these overall strategic goals, the Interreg V-A Slovakia-Hungary has been elaborated on the basis of the relevant Strategic Guidelines, Regulations, Delegated and Implementing Acts of the Commission, especially on basis of the following strategies, reports and legislative acts: EU2020 strategy, Territorial Agenda of the European Union 2020, 5th Cohesion Report, 2010, The urban and regional dimension of the crisis. Eighth progress report on economic, social and territorial cohesion, June 2013 Regulation (EU) No 1303/2013 - Common Provision Regulation (CPR), Regulation (EU) No 1301/2013 on the European Regional Development Fund Regulation (EU) No 1299/2013 on specific provisions for the support from the European Regional Development Fund to the European territorial cooperation (ETC) goal 5 INTERREG V-A SLOVAKIA – HUNGARY COOPERATION PROGRAMME On the base of these guidelines the Interreg V-A Slovakia-Hungary will contribute to the delivery of the European Union EU2020 strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth, and will contribute to the achievement of economic, social and territorial cohesion. European Union Strategy for the Danube Region In close co-operation with the concerned national and interregional programmes and institutions, within the scope of its operations the Interreg V-A Slovakia-Hungary will contribute to the implementation of some of the envisaged actions of the European Union Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR) endorsed by the European Council in April 2011. In line with this the Interreg V-A Slovakia-Hungary will definitely act to realize the four strategic policy objectives of the EUSDR on the regions of Hungary and Slovakia along the Danube: connecting the regions, protecting the environment, building prosperity and strengthening the concerned regions. This will be done in line with the Hungarian Partnership Agreement, which states,

This paper discusses the issue of the Cˇ ív landscape changes in the context of its use (historical land use). Between 1701 and 1709, new inhabitants began cultivating the desolated landscape of the Dorog Basin, which is surrounded by the Pilis Mountains. This paper aims to characterize the Slovak exclave Cˇ ív land use with an emphasis on the period from the beginning of the 18th century (Slovak colonization of the analyzed territory) to 2019. These findings subsequently lead to the evaluation of the stability of the cultural-historical landscape as an essential condition for the development of ecotourism in the cultural landscape.

    Transport Study for the Danube Macro-Region – Annex II of the Final Report Construction of Csorna bypass section, motor road M86-M85 General information This project regards the construction of the second stage of the Csorna bypass, which is part of the development project of road M85. The road M85 Győr-Csorna-Nagycenk is the East-West axis of the Győr-Moson-Sopron County and crosses the road M86 Rédics-Szombathely-Rajka in the town of Csorna (see Figure 4-1). Figure 4-1: Localisation of the Csorna bypass Source: Ministry of National Development (2017) The objectives of this project are presented in general terms. It is expected that, once completed, the Csorna bypass could generate benefits in terms of: time savings, safety levels, environmental impact and vehicle operating costs. The project could improve the accessibility of the region enhancing the mobility of both passengers and freight. As regards its relevance, the project is in line with the EU transport policy, the National Transport Development Strategy of Hungary and with the National Land Use Framework Plan. The project promoter is the National Infrastructure Developing Private Company Limited (i.e., NIF), the rail and road infrastructure manager of Hungary. Technical description The second stage of the Csorna bypass is 5,9 km long. It joins two adjacent sections. The first section is 4,4 km long with two lanes per carriageway. The second section is 1,5 km long with one lane per carriageway. The project includes 4 civil structures, but it is not specified the typology. The total estimated investment cost is equal to € 47,6 million.

Far from the core – regions and industrial parks in economic shadow in Hungary1 Part one Tibor Tiner2 Abstract The economic development of NUTS2 regions in Hungary can be evaluated in diff erent ways. It is their economic potential which is put in the focus of this paper. This potential can be measured by total revenues of leading companies operating on their territories in the fi rst place, and then by number, profi le and profi t of these fi rms sett led into industrial parks of the regions. The results of an analysis showing close correlation between their geographical position and success (or failure) in business might be used by the experts of the regional development agencies in decision making. This article is an att empt to evaluate the level of development of NUTS2 regions on the basic data for the leading 500 companies. The second part of the paper (Hung. Geogr. Bull. No 3. 2010) will deal with economic effi ciency of top fi rms which are sett led into industrial parks of less favoured regions. Analyses are going on the basis of fi nancial and statistical indicators published by diff erent institutions and fi rms (e.g. Central Statistical Offi ce, Creditreform Ltd.) electroni- cally or in printed version. The study also deals with a few regional eff ects of economic crisis burst in 2008.
