Painopiste on suomalaiseen saunaperinteeseen liittyvissä julkaisuissa. Mukana on muutamia kaunokirjallisia teoksia, joissa saunaa on kuvattu. Matkakertomuksia ja kansainvälisiä julkaisuja saunasta on poimittu internetistä. Saunan historiasta on julkaisuja, joista venäjänkieliset nimet ja nimekkeet on osin translitteroitu. Saunaan liittyvä Suomessa julkaistu musiikki käsittää nuottijulkaisut, erityyppiset äänilevyt sekä videot. Osio on koottu Viola-tietokannasta. Viitteet ovat päänimekkeen mukaan aakkosissa. Sauna-sana on alleviivattu viitteissä. Sanomalehtien artikkeleita on useita satoja. Sen vuoksi niitä ei ole otettu mukaan. Eri sanomalehtien www-sivuilta on mahdollisuus itse käydä tekemässä artikkelihakuja saunaan liittyvistä aiheista. If you want to be inspired and feel good about life and the Army, just sit down for a moment with John Bate and listen to him as he tells of the amazing adventures he has had in the Lord’s service. He makes the events come alive, his sense of fun and zest for life lift the spirit, and his sensitive insights warm the heart. I know, for I have often been there myself. And now all of that potential for enjoyment and uplift is right here in the pages of Destination Unknown for every reader to share. Marvelous! —JOHN LARSSON General (Ret.) This remarkable book is an example of history alive! Written by the indomitable Colonel John Bate, who wrote in the preface that he gratefully accepted what God had provided and was excited about it, those who know this author will acknowledge that he still lives by that spiritual rule of life. This is not a book about Salvation Army leaders with whom John and Val Bate were associated, but a book about the unfolding of the life and ministry of leaders in the Army whom the Bates knew well and served well, all in the spirit of the servant leadership of which our Lord was the supreme example. This is also a book about the many faces of our shared human experiences lived out for the sake of the kingdom of God. The author skilfully takes the reader through the range of human emotion from pathos to hilarity, depending on the situations in which God had place him and his wife as their own leadership abilities were recognized by the Army.

  • Unit 11 Lesson 1.Indd
JuniorUnit 11Soldiers : Lesson 1 Living Healthy PURPOSE : For the children to explore and understand that how they look after themselves physically, emotionally and relationally is really important to God. ‘God paid a great price for you. So use your body to honour God.’ 1 Corinthians 6:20 Read:Consider & Prepare 1 Corinthians 6:12–20 Romans 12:1–2 Philippians 4:2–9 1 Corinthians 9:24–25 Being classed as unhealthy is not too hard to achieve. With the variety of fast foods, junk food and inac ve entertainment readily available for an inexpensive price, many people are choosing to live unhealthy lifestyles and forming unhealthy habits. Unfortunately, this means that issues such as heart disease, obesity, diabetes and, generally, a sense of being unwell starts to rise in the sta s cs. Looking a er ourselves physically is only one thing we need to be diligent about. What we do, how we spend our me and the people we hang out with can also have an unhealthy impact on what we think, say and do. The choices that we make, the ac vi es that we par cipate in, the things we watch and listen to and the people that we spend me with can infl uence our lifestyle and decisions and how we interact with and see the world. So why does this ma er? Why does God care whether we are healthy or unhealthy? These are the ques ons the Junior Soldiers will be exploring in this lesson. To help them explore these ques ons, we need to fi rst look at what being unhealthy can mean and all the factors that it involves.
