    November 24, 2018 Lausanne, SUI ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating 18/19 Internationaux de France, Day Two Favorites Gabriella Papadakis/Guillaume Cizeron (FRA), Nathan Chen (USA) and Vanessa James/Morgan Cipres (FRA) prevailed as competition wrapped up at the Internationaux de France in Grenoble Saturday with the Free Skating and Free Dance. Five skaters grabbed the last available spots for the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final. The Internationaux de France was the sixth and last event of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series 2018/19. Nathan Chen (USA) rebounds to grab the gold in Grenoble World Champion Nathan Chen (USA) rebounded after a sub-par Short Program to take the gold. Jason Brown (USA) claimed the silver and the bronze went to Russia’s Alexander Samarin. Chen reeled off a quadruple flip, quadruple toe, another quad toe (in combination with an underrotated triple toe) as well as a triple Axel and four triples jumps in his program to “Land of All” by Woodkid. The American picked up a level four for his spins and a level three for his footwork to score 184.64 points. The U.S. Champion totaled 271.58 to win his second Grand Prix gold medal and qualify for the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final. “I’m pretty happy with my performance of the long program, definitely more satisfied with the long than with the short,” the 19-year-old Yale student said. “I’m looking forward to continuing to develop the program and develop the technical side of the program.” Skating to a Simon and Garfunkel Medley, Brown produced four clean triples, including an Axel and exquisite spins.

    ISU JUNIOR GRAND PRIX OF FIGURE SKATING SERIES 2017/18 #JGPFigure Press Release October 16, 2017 Finalists for ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final are determined #JGPFigure Skaters from Australia, Canada, Japan, Russia and the USA have qualified for the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in Nagoya (JPN) in December. The last spots were determined when the series of seven qualifying events concluded in Egna (ITA) last weekend. Alexei Erokhov (RUS) and Alexei Krasnozhon (USA) lead the Men’s standings and claimed two gold medals on the circuit. Camden Pulkinen (USA), Mitsuki Sumoto (JPN), Makar Ignatov (RUS) and Andrew Torgashev (USA) booked their tickets to Nagoya as well. All except Krasnozhon qualified for the first time for the Final. The Russian Junior Ladies dominated the circuit and five of them proceed to the Final: Alexandra Trusova, Sofia Samodurova, Alena Kostornaia, Daria Panenkova and Anastasia Tarakanova. The field is completed by Rika Kihira (JPN), who is the only one to return to the ISU Junior Grand Prix Final. The events featured the top six skaters/couples in each category from the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating and the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating series. Skoptcova/Aleshin (RUS) dance off with gold in Junior Ice Dance Russia’s Anastasia Skoptcova/Kirill Aleshin danced off with the gold medal. Christina Carreira/Anthony Ponomarenko (USA) claimed the silver medal and Sofia Polishchuk/Alexander Vakhnov, also from Russia, earned the bronze in what was their debut in the Junior Final. Skoptcova/Aleshin put out a strong Tango program, collecting a level four for their lifts, twizzles and the sin while the serpentine step sequence was rated a level three. The Muscovites achieved a season’s best with 87.74 points for a total of 153.61 points. “For now, we are satisfied with our performance and now we would like to start our preparation for our next competition,” Aleshin commented.
