    March 2, 2020 Tallinn, Estonia World’s best young skaters to compete in Tallinn ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships 2020 Preview The World’s next generation of Figure Skaters will find out who is the best of the best at the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships 2020 in Tallinn, Estonia (March 2 - 8). Tallinn has hosted the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships once before in 2015, and has hosted the ISU European Figure Skating Championships in 2010 as well as the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating events. 174 skaters from 43 ISU members have been entered for the Championships: 36 Men, 48 Ladies, 16 Pair Skating couples and 29 Ice Dance couples.     September 10, 2019 Riga, Latvia Lee wins gold medal at ISU Junior Grand Prix in Riga Haein Lee won the gold medal at the third ISU Junior Grand Prix event in Riga (LAT). Andrei Mozalev and Elizaveta Khudaiberdieva/ Andrey Filatov added two gold medals to Russia‘s impressive collection and like Lee have a good chance to qualify for the ISU Junior Grand Prix Final in Torino (ITA). Lee gives Korea a JGP gold Haein Lee struck gold, while Daria Usacheva (RUS) earned the silver medal and the bronze went to Rino Matsuike (JPN). Lee skated a clean Short Program and stood in third place, trailing the leader Usacheva by a little over two points. The 14-year-old then delivered an excellent Free Skating to “Riverdance – Firedance”, landing seven triple jumps including a triple Lutz-triple toeloop combination to pull up to first place on 197.63 points. Overnight leader Usacheva completed five clean triples in her routine to “Je suis malade” performed by Lara Fabian, but she fell on an underrotated triple Salchow and also two-footed an underrotated triple toeloop (194.40 points). Matsuike, who ranked fourth in the Short Program, turned in the second-best Free Skating of the night to grab the bronze medal at 193.03 points. Usacheva and Matsuike debuted on the ISU Junior Grand Prix while Lee had a bronze from one event last year. “I was very nervous about this competition but I’m very happy to finish well,” Lee said. A total of 36 Junior Ladies competed in the event.

Valieva delivered an exquisite performance of her program “Girl on the Ball” inspired by Picasso’s painting, hitting a triple loop, double Axel, triple Lutz-triple toe and beautiful spins and steps that all merited a level four. The 13-year-old posted a new personal best of 74.92 points. “I skated quite well, except for the combination, there was a little mistake,” Valieva said. “I was a bit nervous before the competition, but I tried not to be nervous once I took my starting position.” Skating to “Nocturne”, Lee produced a triple Lutz-triple toe, triple loop, double Axel and collected a level four for her spins and footwork. The ISU Junior Grand Prix finalist set a personal best score with 70.08 points. “I did not expect to be in the top three in the short program,” she said. “It is important for me to get a high score for the senior level next season.” Usacheva’s performance to “Please Don’t Make Me Love You” by Linda Eder was highlighted by a double Axel, triple loop and level-four spins and steps.
