SAN BERNARDINO NATIONAL FOREST Forest Order No. 05-12-00-21-12 Wilderness Occupancy and Use Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(a), and to protect natural resources and provide for public safety, the following acts are prohibited within the San Bernardino National Forest. This Order is effective from September 1, 2021, through August 31, 2022. 1. Entering or being in the San Gorgonio, San Jacinto, or Cucamonga Wilderness Areas. 36 C.F.R. § 261.57(a). 2. Being on any National Forest System trail within the San Gorgonio, San Jacinto, or Cucamonga Wilderness Areas. 36 C.F.R. § 261.55(a). 3. Being within the San Gorgonio, San Jacinto, or Cucamonga Wilderness Area as part of a group larger than 12 persons. 36 C.F.R. § 261.58(f). 4. Camping in the San Gorgonio, San Jacinto, or Cucamonga Wilderness Areas, or within the Stonehouse Crossing Campsite. 36 C.F.R. § 261.58(e). Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order: 1. Persons with a valid wilderness area day use permit issued by the San Bernardino National Forest are exempt from Prohibition Nos. 1 and 2, provided they are in compliance with the conditions contained in the permit. 2. Persons with a valid wilderness area overnight permit issued by the San Bernardino National Forest are exempt from Prohibition Nos. 1, 2, and 4, provided they are in compliance with the conditions contained in the permit. 3. Land PCT Corridor Acquisition Projects & Water U.S. Forest Service (USFS) Budget Request Conservation $7.0 million Fund California—Landers Meadow, trail and resource (LWCF) protection within the Sequoia National Forest; Trinity Divide, trail and resource protection within the Shasta- Trinity National Forest, Donomore Meadows, trail and resource protection within the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. Washington—Columbia Gorge, trail and resource protection in and adjacent to the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area; Stevens Pass, purchase portion of the trail that currently has no easement. $250,000—LWCF line item for program administration Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Budget Request $515,000 California—California Desert Southwest, purchase parcels within the San Gorgonio Wilderness to create an uninterrupted wilderness experience. DRECP Proposed LUPA and Final EIS CHAPTER III.8. CULTURAL RESOURCES III.8 CULTURAL RESOURCES This chapter presents the Affected Environment for the Land Use Plan Amendment (LUPA) Decision Area and the Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan (DRECP) area for cultural resources. These areas overlap, and in the following programmatic discussion are referred to broadly as the “California Desert Region.” More than 32,000 cultural resources are known in the DRECP area in every existing environmental context ⎼ from mountain crests to dry lake beds ⎼ and include both surface and subsurface deposits. Cultural resources are categorized as buildings, sites, structures, objects, and districts (including cultural landscapes and Traditional Cultural Properties) under the federal National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA). Historic properties are cultural resources included in, or eligible for inclusion in, the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP), maintained by the Secretary of the Interior (36 Code of Federal Regulations [CFR] 60.4). See Section III.8.1.1 for more information on federal regulations and historic properties. This chapter discusses three types of cultural resources classified by their origins: prehistoric, ethnographic, and historic. Prehistoric cultural resources are associated with the human occupation of California prior to prolonged European contact. These resources may include sites and deposits, structures, artifacts, rock art, trails, and other traces of Native American human behavior. In California, the prehistoric period began over 12,000 years ago and extended through the eighteenth century until 1769, when the first Europeans settled in California. Ethnographic resources represent the heritage of a particular ethnic or cultural group, such as Native Americans or African, European, Latino, or Asian immigrants. -

CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND WILDLIFE DEER MANAGEMENT PROGRAM Wildlife Branch 1010 Riverside Parkway, West Sacramento, CA 95605 ZONE D14 2021 General Deer Hunting Information (Includes Additional Hunt J-11) GENERAL INFORMATION This information sheet has been prepared to assist deer hunters applying for, or planning to hunt in Zone D-14, located in portions of Riverside and San Bernardino counties. The following information should be useful to hunters for archery and general seasons as well as any “additional hunts” within this geographic area. For more specific information or additional questions regarding this area, contact the following Department office(s): • Inland Deserts Region Office (Region 6), 3602 Inland Empire Boulevard, Suite C-220, Ontario, CA 91764 (909-484-0167) encompassing Imperial, Inyo, Mono, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties. REGULATIONS Laws and regulations are designed to conserve wildlife and to provide for an equitable distribution of game mammals. All hunters should read and be familiar with the Current Hunting Regulations. Remember, if you are hunting on private property you must obtain, and have in your possession, written permission to hunt on private property. Hunter trespass laws are strictly enforced. NON-LEAD RESTRICTIONS As of July 1, 2019, all hunters must use nonlead ammunition when taking any wildlife in California, except when hunting with a pellet rifle for approved species. • CCR T14 250.1(d)(3) Effective July 1, 2019, it shall be unlawful to use, or possess with any firearm capable of firing, any projectile(s) not certified as nonlead when taking any wildlife for any purpose in this state. • CCR T14 475(f) The take or attempted take of any nongame bird or nongame mammal with a firearm shall be in accordance with the use of nonlead projectiles and ammunition pursuant to Section 250.1 of these regulations. -

GENERAL INFORMATION Purpose of 5-Year Reviews: The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) is required by section 4(c)(2) of the Endangered Species Act (Act) to conduct a review of each listed species at least once every 5 years. The purpose of a 5-year review is to evaluate whether or not the species’ status has changed since it was listed (or since the most recent 5-year review). Based on the 5-year review, we recommend whether the species should be removed from the list of endangered and threatened species, be changed in status from endangered to threatened, or be changed in status from threatened to endangered. Our original listing of a species as endangered or threatened is based on the existence of threats attributable to one or more of the five threat factors described in section 4(a)(1) of the Act, and we must consider these same five factors in any subsequent consideration of reclassification or delisting of a species. In the 5-year review, we consider the best available scientific and commercial data on the species, and focus on new information available since the species was listed or last reviewed. If we recommend a change in listing status based on the results of the 5-year review, we must propose to do so through a separate rule-making process defined in the Act that includes public review and comment. -
