  • Level H (14) Book List
Fiction Leveled Book List (K-3) Having students read books at their independent reading level is a great way to practice the skills and strategies that they are learning in school. This list is meant to serve as a resource for parents to help find books that your child can read independently. Find out from your child’s teacher what level would be just-right for him/her. You will see that many of the books are part of different series. Series reading is a great way to hook reluctant readers. If they find a series they enjoy and really hooks them… watch out, they will become reading machines! All of the books listed should be easily found at your local library or book store. Although this list only contains fiction reading selections, it is also important to read nonfiction informational texts with your child. Ask your child what he/she would like to learn more about. Get some books out of the library or research some kid-friendly websites together! Happy Reading! Mrs. Boyle Literacy Coach WES Guided Reading Levels A and B (DRA Level 1-2) *Hearing books read aloud is extremely important for beginning readers. Talk about the books as you read them. Have your child echo read. Ask your child to point out words they know. Ask your child to locate different sight words or find words with different characteristics (such as “Find a word that starts with an uppercase letter.” Or “Find a word that starts like ____”.) 1. Do You Want to Be My Friend? by Eric Carle 2.
