Very Rev. Fr. Cyril Haran, P.E. , Ahamlish, Grange, Co. . RIP 25 June 2014. Parish of Ahamlish and Inishmurray Tributes continue to be paid to the late Fr. Cyril Haran, who has passed away after Grange ◊ ◊ Mullaghmore 58 years of ministry. Fr. Haran was appointed CC in Grange in 1988 & in 1997 Rev. with the Grange GAA team as a teenager. As a teacher in Summerhill he led many teams to success in Soccer & Gaelic. He led St. Mary’s to their first County Senior title and they became the first club in Sligo to win a Connaught title in 1977. In 1978, he managed St. Mary’s to a county semi final against Grange, which Grange won in a replay. He also managed Roscommon Gaels & St. Michaels and was

Senior Team Manager from 1983-1985. One of his remembered sayings, when he would gather his team around him, to face their opponents was

“Lads, winning isn’t everything (pause) it’s the only thing”. “He was a man, take him for all in all, I shall not look upon his like again....for in that sleep of death, what dreams may come.” (Shakespeare).
