"St Clare is renowned for the exceptional care it provides to people with life-limiting illnesses, and their whole circle of family and friends. "It is my mission to ensure we meet the need of the growing numbers of people who require our care. "We can do this by working hard to expand our community services to help people where they are, whether in their own homes, in hospital or care homes. "I think we also need to help strengthen the confidence and ability of local communities to care for each other at the end of life, and St Clare Hospice can play a major role in supporting this. "St Clare is a truly local charity, one that is embedded in the local community, is listening to local people’s needs and responding to that need. "I’m looking forward to working with the St Clare team to develop more end of life care services for local people, so that we can make an even greater difference to all those people we serve.” * St Clare Hospice marked International Nurses Day with a tea party in honour of the nursing staff at the Hastingwood-based hospice.
