In the meantime, we have been conducting design or construction of various factory buildings as well as general buildings such as the KEANGNAM landmark tower, the Da Nang Blooming Tower and Danang Stadium, Hue general hospital. The construction culture of Vietnam is very different from that of Korea, and there were many trials and errors and difficulties in many areas in the beginning. By experiencing the process, we have built a building based on our current technology and trust.     CONCLUSION Throughout the 20th century, Vieät-Nam was at the intersection for most of the international powers in politics and culture: France, China, the Soviet Union, and the United States. For more than a century, the changes in aesthetics in Vieät-Nam roughly followed the course of the nation’s relations with these foreign powers. Inevitably, they left their traces in Vietnamese culture, more or less, according to their approaches to Vieät-Nam. The conclusion locates these changes at four turning points in Vietnamese art history and reviews Socialist Realism in the post-doi moi context. Consideration is also given to the introduction of alternative art schools that might challenge current Vietnamese institutions and help nurture a new generation of creative visual artists. Such institutions might fill the gaps between current Vietnamese art theory and practice and their relationship to the global art world. These alternative art schools could also disseminate a more complete and objective account of Vieät-Nam’s art history, which as outlined in the introduction, is one of the governing principles of this thesis. The four turning points: The four turning points of change are: the introduction of western influences under colonialism, the adoption of Socialist Realism in North Vieät-Nam, the pursuit of individuality and expressive art in South Vieät-Nam and the transformation in visual arts under doi moi. At the beginning of the 20th century, the first influential turning point was already in progress with the imposition, in the late 19-century, of French colonial values, which were, and still are, most apparent in the architectural landscape and the adoption of western styled clothing.

    1 Vietnam Vo Hieu I. Introduction Vietnam – sometimes spelled Viet Nam, officially the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is the easternmost country on the Indochina Peninsula in Southeast Asia. Ho Chi Minh City, the new name for Saigon, lies just north of the Mekong Delta in the South, and is the largest city in Vietnam. The city, with a population of seven million, functions as the country’s economic heart and business hub. Danang, in the central part of the country, is the third largest city and an important port. The country was usually called Annam until 1945, when the Proclamation of Independence of the Democratic Republic of Viet Nam was written by Ho Chi Minh president and announced in public, solemn declared to the world at Ba Dinh Square on September 2, 1945 changed the official name back to Việt Nam. Since the use of Chinese characters was discontinued at this time, the alphabetic spelling of Vietnam is now official. ABSTRACT This study aims to explore the features of a particular transnational consumer culture in Vietnam – the younger generation of urban consumers a consumer culture that is shaped by the recent political history of post-socialist era in Vietnam and the country’s economic transition. The research pays particular attention to ways in which globalizing processes in relation to consumption are negotiated and interpreted at the micro level i.e. the level of the consumer. Focusing, in particular, on the influence of brand consumption upon identity, it seeks to understand how these aspirational consumers within the two largest cities in Vietnam, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, define and make sense of themselves as a new emerging consumer force. Assuming a qualitative research orientation, the study uses an interpretivist approach and case study methods to offer in-depth insight into the meaning- making practices of consumers within the context of the Vietnamese ' global' city, and the inter-relationships between globalisation and locality. Surveys were carried out among 600 Vietnamese respondents (610 distributed) in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, to understand precisely the identity work of urban youth through brand consumption. This data was supported by in-depth interviews with 16 urban middle-class and follow-up participant observation to explore the varied ways in which these consumers use and attach symbolic meanings to the products they consume to affirm their social identity, as well as the influence of local and transnational media on brand choices.

These 3 schools are located on top of the representation triangle There are 2 National Universities: National University of Hanoi and National University of Ho Chi Minh City where there are Technical faculties. In addition, there are many specialized universities with Technical faculties under the management of the state orginizations / department in Industrial sectors such as Construction, Transport, Telecommunications, Energy, etc... In the table 3-1 below, it shows universities specialized management by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, at the time of 2011 is 18 schools. In this context, the role of cultural diplomacy has increasingly strengthened and emphasized in all countries. While cultural diplomacy is considered as a tool to increase the influence by major countries, the small countries, like Vietnam, consider it as an important factor in promoting their economic development, tourism, and investment. In recent years, Vietnamese government and people have gradually raised their awareness of cultural diplomacy in the current direction, which creates an opportunity to invest and diversify the activities of cultural diplomacy systematically. These changes have brought about positive results that affirm the importance and the role of cultural diplomacy in national foreign policy and contributed effectively to a comprehensive diplomatic strategy (i.e. Strategy on Cultural Diplomacy through 2020 ratified by the Prime Minister in 2011). Cultural diplomatic activities of Vietnam will“ open the opportunities to the relations with countries and regions having weak relationship, deepen the understanding with other nations, promote the images of the Vietnamese country and people in the international arena, contribute to the campaign of more heritage reorganization by the UNESCO, and absorb the quintessence of human culture to enrich national cultural identity.” Their achievements are not only limited to sustainable and stable international relations by making the world better understand Vietnam and creating favourable conditions for socio- economic development but also help preserving and reviving the traditional cultural values along with absorbing the quintessence of human culture.
