The Grass Will Never Stop Growing: Gerhard Gundermann, an Eastern German Voice for Rock ABSTRACT This paper consists of two parts. The first offers a portrait of Professor Jaime Cerrolazas scholarly life: his teaching and his research. The second aims to introduce the figure of the GDR poet and singer-songwriter Gerhard Gundermann. At a time when the world celebra- tes the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, Gundermanns voice becomes more relevant, because his songs illustrate the transition process from a socialist to a capitalist society. Gundermann lent his voice to all those who never stopped dreaming of a world of solidarity, with more justice and peace. Palabras clave: Gerhard Gundermann, song, politics, GDR / East Germany. -
