Academic Success Center The Academic Success Center is dedicated to providing students with skills and resources to achieve their academic and personal goals during their college experience. We are offering several one-credit classes the second seven weeks of Fall semester, and encourage faculty to refer students to one or more of these courses:

 USU 1020 –Habits of Mind: Planning for College Success–1 credit: o This introductory course focuses on the theory and practice of effective planning, including time management, organizational skills, adult mindset, and motivation. These course skills enable students to optimize their ability to have success in academic and other environments.  USU 1030 –Habits of Mind: Resilience–1 credit o This introductory course focuses on a basic understanding of the science of resilience and the development and practice of resilience skills to enhance performance in academic, workplace, and other demanding contexts.  USU 1040 –Habits of Mind: Learning for College Success–1 credit o This introductory course focuses on developing academic skills, beliefs, and behaviors for implementation in and out of class.  USU 1060 –Habits of Mind: Reading for College Success–1 credit o This introductory course focuses on practical application of learning science and strategies and the development of critical thinking skills needed to comprehend and distill meaning from college-level texts.  USU 1070 –Habits of Mind: Success in STEM–1 credit o This introductory course focuses on assisting students in achieving success in STEM environments, particularly mathematics, statistics, biology, and chemistry. The course focus is to enhance student’s ability to recognize and avoid common difficulties in STEM-related areas.

We also offer services to help students such as tutoring, supplemental instruction, help with taking tests, ways to enhance studying for success, and classes such as USU 1730, a three-credit course on Strategies for Academic Success, USU 1750, Comprehension Strategies for College Reading, and USU 2160, a Tutor Certification course for Math and Statistics. Advancement USU Advancement elevates philanthropy and engagement by cultivating meaningful relationships with donors and alumni. We collaborate with campus colleagues to plan effective events, design and send invitations, develop and maintain mailing lists, and host other fundraising/alumni activities. Aggie Blue Bikes Aggie Blue Bikes works to remove barriers that people face when they make the choice to bike commute. Aggie Blue Bikes provides rentals to faculty for $6 a semester. Aggie Blue Bikes also has space to assist cyclists with their personal bikes. Basic items are available for purchase and there is a variety of donated parts that can be used for free. Aggie Chocolate Factory The Aggie Chocolate Factory provides teaching, research, and outreach opportunities to students, faculty, the community, and chocolate producers. The factory staff and food science faculty strive to provide exceptional opportunities for all to learn about chocolate and its production in a professional and collaborative work and research environment with attention to quality, safety, sustainability, and efficiency. Aggie Creamery Ask a student, member of the faculty, or alumnus about favorite memories of Utah State University and Aggie Ice Cream will almost certainly be mentioned. Founded in the basement of Old Main, the Aggie Creamery has been at the heart of Utah State University from its beginning. What started as a butter- and cheese-focused creamery (and we still make delicious cheeses) has evolved into both a large production facility where future food scientists learn and a beloved shop with 28 flavors that have become the “Taste of Tradition” at USU. Made with cream from cows at the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences’ George B. Caine Dairy Research Farm, Aggie Ice Cream is produced on campus and with Aggie Pride from cow to cone. American West Heritage Center The American West Heritage Center sits at the foot of the majestic Wellsville Mountains on U. S. Highway 89/91 in Utah’s magnificent Cache Valley, the most scenic route to Jackson Hole, WY and Yellowstone National Park, and just 70 miles north of . Our mission is to create an educational & entertaining environment that inspires our patrons to learn, live, and celebrate the American West Heritage by exploring the diverse cultures that shaped the Cache Valley and surrounding region from 1820 to 1920. Analysis Assessment & Accreditation Welcome to the Office of Analysis, Assessment and Accreditation (just call us AAA for short). Bear River Charter School Bear River Charter School (BRCS) is a free public charter school founded in part by USU faculty. Our mission is to provide an outstanding educational and social experience for elementary and middle school students (K-8). Campus Recreation Campus Recreation incorporates many recreational activities and facilities across USU Campus. For informal recreation, we offer The Aggie Recreation Center, HPER Building, and Fieldhouse which are multipurpose facilities with several activity spaces. These include weight rooms for strength and cardiovascular conditioning, multi-purpose gymnasiums, two indoor jogging tracks, six racquetball courts, an indoor climbing wall, group fitness rooms, locker rooms, administrative offices and meeting spaces, and two pools.

Aquatic Programs provide a safe and inviting environment supported by educated, enthusiastic, and professional American Red Cross Certified Lifeguards and Water Safety Instructors. Aquatics provides a place for physical activity and leisure to individuals with different needs and goals and also educates participants on water safety practices.

Fitness Programs provide integrated programs, resources, and services in order to promote healthy lifestyles, create opportunities for positive behavior modification, and enhance student academic success. Programs and services include group fitness classes, personal training services, weight management and nutrition consulting, workshops, incentive programs, and special events.

Intramural Sports offer participants the opportunity play organized sports in a recreational but competitive atmosphere, learn new sports skills, and have fun with fellow friends and students. The Intramural Sports Program offers a wide variety of team sports, team and individual tournaments, and special events.

Club Sports provide opportunities to participate in competitive and recreational sports and learn valuable life skills in organization, communication and leadership. Club Sports have been established to promote and develop the interests and skills of their members in a particular sport or recreational activity.

Outdoor Programs provides opportunities for outdoor education and leadership experiences through the climbing and bouldering walls, adventure trips, and workshops. Outdoor gear can also be checked out at the Aggie Recreation Center Rental Shop.

Challenge Course provides a fun, educational approach to learning and applying principles to a wide variety of real- world situations in both your personal and professional life.

Card Office The USU Card Office provides three different types of cards: student, faculty, and spouse cards. These cards give access to different resources on campus as well as the ability to use Aggie Express to pay for campus dining and other services. Center for Community Engagement The Center for Community Engagement (CCE) was established in 2013, bringing together the complimentary missions of our six community engagement programs. Center for Innovative Design & Instruction The Center for Innovative Design and Instruction (CIDI) helps university instructors and administrators create and maintain high quality learning environments by providing access to practical tools, relevant data, prompt and effective support, consultation, hands-on training, and interaction with peers. CIDI also produces e-learning courseware for a variety of delivery formats in partnership with university faculty and staff.

Center for Intersectional Gender Studies and Research The Center for Intersectional Gender Studies and research provides a broad range of support to faculty and students who are interested in issues of gender and intersectionality. In addition to our three academic programs for undergraduates, we provide teaching and research fellowships for faculty, event co-sponsorships, and graduate student travel grants. Center for Persons with Disabilities The Center for Persons with Disabilities is Utah’s federally designated University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD). The CPD was established in 1972 by Dr. Marvin Fifield, and was the first UCEDD program in the nation to focus on the educational and social needs of children with disabilities. Over our 45- year history, the CPD has grown into one of the largest UCEDD programs in the nation and is recognized as a pioneer in research, training, technical assistance, and services for children and adults with disabilities, their families, and the professionals who serve them. We are working together to create inclusive communities and improve the lives of children and adults with disabilities and their families through sustainable innovation, collaborative research, responsive service, and interdisciplinary training and education.

College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences The College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences (CAAS) offers more than 80 degree programs and is the home to seven departments: Animal, Dairy and Veterinary Sciences; Applied Sciences, Technology, and Education; Nutrition, Dietetics and Food Sciences; Applied Economics; Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning; Plants, Soils and Climate; and Aviation and Technical Education. Counseling and Psychological Services Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) promotes student development by teaching emotional intelligence, healthy relationships, self-reliance, and resilience. We provide counseling services to currently enrolled USU students. Our scope of services include: clinical and crisis consultations, individual and group counseling, psycho-educational evaluations, outreach and consultation services to USU departments, workshops, and a self-help resource library. CAPS is open M-F 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, CAPS services can be scheduled over the phone. No in-person appointments are being scheduled at this time.

Disability Resource Center The DRC works with individuals, faculty, and staff to ensure that students with disabilities can fully participate in University programs, services, and activities. The center helps individuals with disabilities overcome barriers that could otherwise limit their academic, professional, and personal potential. These barriers may be architectural, attitudinal, or related to University programs. The DRC provides direct services and coordinates with other state agencies and University programs to ensure equal access. Edith Bowen Laboratory School Edith Bowen Laboratory School (EBLS) is a K - 6 public charter school located on the campus of Utah State University and is a unit in the Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services (CEHS). The school has provided quality education for nearly a century to students from all across Cache Valley. The original 1928 site for the campus was the old Whittier School in Logan, Utah. This facility served as a teacher training site for the College of Education until the laboratory school was moved to the campus of USU in 1957 and was formally named Edith Bowen Laboratory School. A new facility was completed on campus in 2004. In 2006, EBLS became a charter school through Logan City School District, renewing its commitment to fostering a diverse, interactive, and inviting school environment where the community of learners extends from kindergartners to adults. The school commits itself to building capable, life-long learners through developmentally appropriate education, applied research, and innovative educational practices.

Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services The Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services is home to eight departments and is committed to providing the best learning opportunities and educational research in the state of Utah. Latinx Cultural Center Now in its third year, the Latinx Cultural Center at USU provides visibility, community, and recognition for all who are invested in the health, well-being, and success of the Latinx demographic in northern Utah. Currently located in the second floor of the Merrill-Cazier Library, the Latinx Cultural Center hosts and sponsors events that work to educate audiences about issues concerning the Latinx community, as well as to provide representation for individuals who identify with this historically marginalized group.

The Latinx Cultural Center delights in enhancing the University’s mission as a land-grant university, and also to support the cause of inclusion and diversity at Utah State University. Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art The Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art (NEHMA) is USU’s modern art museum dedicated to serving as an academic resource for students of all disciplines. Last year, USU professors and K-12 educators used NEHMA field trips and classroom visits to teach clothing design, English as a second language, poetry, and STEM, just to name a few.

Police Department and Public Safety The USU Police Department includes 12 full-time and 6 part-time state-certified police officers with authority equal to that of any municipal or county law enforcement officer in the state. The department provides a 24-hour dispatch center and a team of student security officers who help keep the campus safe. USU Police are committed to maintaining the highest level of integrity and professionalism. From vehicle jump-starts, vehicle lock-outs, personal safety escorts, building let-ins, crime prevention and investigation, or emergency management, the USU Police Department is here to serve USU.

Publication Design and Production (PDP – Aggie Print) PDP – Aggie Print is committed to achieving the highest level of customer satisfaction by meeting all printing, designing, and promotional needs of Utah State University through delivery of quality products in the most cost- effective and timely fashion. PDP - Aggie Print supports the teaching, research, and service functions of Utah State University through the production of all types of print media, screen printing, embroidery, engraving, and promotional products. Working closely with Marketing Communications, PDP – Aggie Print produces materials for on-campus distribution and materials destined for Utah State University's external audiences. Sexual Assault and Anti-Violence Information Office (SAAVI) SAAVI provides free and confidential advocacy and therapy to primary and secondary survivors of all forms of interpersonal violence including sexual assault, stalking, relationship violence, bullying, and hazing. SAAVI also offers support and resources for those in unhealthy relationships and healthy relationships, and offers anti-violence outreach to the USU campus community. Sponsored Programs Office It is the mission of the Office of Research at USU to facilitate and stimulate research, scholarship, and creative activities. As part of that mission, the Vice President for Research has coordinated efforts to help faculty identify and pursue promising research opportunities. University Extension USU Extension provides non-credit education for individuals, families, and communities in Utah through a unique network of offices that serve every county in the state. Extension has 116 faculty and experts who extend the resources and research-based information from USU to Utah communities through live programming and online courses. Program areas include gardening, family finance, relationship education, food safety, emergency preparedness, agriculture, natural resources, and youth programs. Extension also operates the 94-acre USU Botanical Center in Kaysville, the Ogden Botanical Garden in Ogden, and the Swaner EcoCenter in Park City. Utah Agricultural Experiment Station The Utah Agricultural Experiment Station (UAES) is part of a network of researchers and facilities at the nation’s land- grant universities, and is committed to improving agriculture and natural resources for the people of Utah. Experiment station research provides the science-based information used by Extension specialists and others to assist people and policymakers in every state in the nation. At research facilities on the Utah State University campus and throughout the state, the UAES supports hundreds of research projects conducted by faculty in several USU colleges. The mission of the UAES is to generate knowledge and new technology for improving the diverse system of agriculture and natural resources that feed, clothe, house, and enhance the environment for people in Utah and beyond. Utah Public Radio

Utah Public Radio, a service of Utah State University, broadcasts news, information, public affairs, and cultural programming 24 hours a day. Located in Logan, Utah Public Radio is heard by listeners across Utah and in Southern Idaho via a network of six full-power HD-enhanced stations and 30 translators. More than half of Utah's population resides within the station and translator network coverage area.

The station commenced operation in 1953 as KVSC, the Voice of the State College. The call letters changed to KUSU-FM in 1961 to reflect the transition from Utah State Agricultural College to Utah State University. Utah Public Radio is Utah's oldest non-commercial, educational radio service.

USUSA - Student Involvement and Leadership Center The Utah State University Student Association (USUSA) represents every student at USU.
