INSTRUCTIONS AND CARE INDEX 1 CLEANING YOUR WATCH 2 RESIZING YOUR STRAP MESH BAND ADJUSTMENT SIZING A LINK STRAP 3 SETTING YOUR WATCH STANDARD MOVEMENT ONE HAND MULTIFUNCTION CHRONOGRAPH CHRONOGRAPH RESET 3 HAND DAY AND DATE SOLAR POWERED WORLD TIME/ALARM AUTOMATIC WATCH CARE SKAGEN suggests the following solutions for cleaning metal and crystal surfaces: 3:1 SOLUTION OF AMMONIA-BASED WINDOW CLEANER TO WATER OR 4:1 SOLUTION OF RUBBING ALCOHOL TO WATER *Do not use soap products, as soap will leave residue behind when dry. These suggested solutions will evaporate cleanly from metal and glass surfaces. TO CLEAN THE CASE AND CRYSTAL Moisten a soft cloth with one of the above solutions. Gently wipe the case and crystal clean. Be careful not to put too much stress on the crystal as you clean. Avoid immersing or soaking the case or crystal portion of the watch, regardless of water-resistance rating. TO CLEAN THE BAND OR STRAP METAL Dip a cotton swab into one of the above solutions and gently rub it on the unclean area of the band. For more intricate mesh bands, you may want to use a soft-bristle toothbrush or nailbrush. Be sure to cover the case of the watch during this process so as not to soak it. For stubborn dirt, you may want to take your watch in to the nearest SKAGEN location. SILICON, FELT AND CERAMIC Simply wipe the strap down with a damp, soft cloth. Avoid soaps and solvents as they may damage the material. LEATHER Simply wipe it clean with a damp cloth, using water only.

  • Sand Dune Inventory of Europe
Herrier J.-L., J. Mees, A. Salman, J. Seys, H. Van Nieuwenhuyse and I. Dobbelaere (Eds). 2005. p. 45-54 Proceedings ‘Dunes and Estuaries 2005’ – International Conference on Nature Restoration Practices in European Coastal Habitats, Koksijde, Belgium, 19-23 September 2005 VLIZ Special Publication 19, xiv + 685 pp. Sand dune inventory of Europe James Patrick Doody National Coastal Consultants 5 Green Lane, Brampton, Huntingdon, Cambs., PE28 4RE, United Kingdom E-mail: [email protected] Abstract In November 1991 an inventory of sand dunes in Europe was published (Doody, 1991). This included a general review of the habitat and its conservation and summary descriptions of the status of the sand dunes in most of the countries in Europe. This paper sets out to provide an update of the sand dune resource in Europe as a basis for revising the inventory, which will be published at a later date if support (financial and information) can be obtained. Keywords: Sand dune; Survey; Inventory; Europe. Introduction Almost the first European dune conference was held in Leiden, The Netherlands, in 1987. Following this conference one of the first tasks suggested by the newly established European Union for Dune Conservation [EUDC] was to produce an inventory of coastal dunes throughout Europe (Fig. 1). This was published by the UK Joint Nature Conservation Committee and the European Union for Coastal Conservation (EUCC an expanded EUDC) with funding from the Department of Nature Conservation, Environmental Protection and Wildlife Management in the Dutch Ministry. It was presented at the European Coastal Conservation Conference organized by the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature Management and Fisheries held in Holland in November 1991.

  • The International Market Selection Process
ESSO_C07.qxd 6/16/08 6:14 PM Page 161 77 The international market selection process Contents 7.1 Introduction 7.2 International market selection: SMEs versus LSEs 7.3 Building a model for international market selection 7.4 Market expansion strategies 7.5 The global product/market portfolio 7.6 Summary Case study 7.1 Philips Lighting Learning objectives After studying this chapter you should be able to do the following: l Define international market selection and identify the problems in achieving it. l Explore how international marketers screen potential markets/countries using secondary and primary data (criteria). l Distinguish between preliminary and ‘fine-grained’ screening. l Realize the importance of segmentation in the formulation of the global marketing strategy. l Choose among alternative market expansion strategies. l Distinguish between concentration and diversification in market expansion. 7.1 Introduction Identifying the ‘right’ market(s) to enter is important for a number of reasons: l It can be a major determinant of success or failure, especially in the early stages of internationalization. l This decision influences the nature of foreign marketing programmes in the selected countries. l The nature of geographic location of selected markets affects the firm’s ability to coordinate foreign operations. In this chapter a systematic approach to international market selection (IMS) is presented. A study of recently internationalized US firms showed that on average firms do not follow a highly systematic approach. However, those firms using a systematic sequence of steps in IMS showed a better performance (Yip et al., 2000). 161 ESSO_C07.qxd 6/16/08 6:14 PM Page 162 Part II Deciding which markets to enter 7.2 International market selection: SMEs versus LSEs The international market selection process is different in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and large-scale enterprises (LSEs).
