Her dedication to the Fund was consistent with her lifetime of tireless commitment to a variety of civic and professional organizations here in New York. She will long be remembered not only as a role model for women involved in the practice of law but also as a forceful advocate for the humane treatment of all animals.

Thank you for purchasing the 2016 Belmont Stakes Guide presented by Guaranteed Tip Sheet and RacingDudes.com! The Belmont Stakes is the final jewel of the elusive Triple Crown, but will not get as much hype this year since no horse will be going for the Triple Crown. Called “The Test of the Champion,” the Belmont Stakes is run at Belmont Park in Elmont, NY, in early June. It is the oldest of the Triple Crown races and was first run in 1867. The race is the longest of the Triple Crown races ran at the grueling distance of 1½ miles for 3 year olds on the main dirt track. This year’s edition of the Belmont Stakes will be run on Saturday, June 11 at approximately 6:37 p.m. (EDT). This “2016 Belmont Stakes Guide presented by Guaranteed Tip Sheet and RacingDudes.com” will give you the information needed to hopefully make a nice return on one of the biggest days of horse racing of the year. With $7.5 million in purse money over 10 stakes races on the day representing most of the divisions in the sport, the Belmont Stakes day card is the summer version of the Breeders’ Cup on the east coast. James Wilson, Secretary of Agriculture, reported that the value of farm products In the United States for that year was $4,900,000,000—nearly double the gross earnings of the railroads added to the value of the production of all the mines of the country for the same period. This official statement opened the eyes of feverish municipalities to the Importance of agricultural life. The value of horses owned by farmers Is placed at $1,150,000,000. In 1905 horses Increased In num- ber to 17,000,000, and In value to $1,200,000,000. TUESDAY, MARCH 20, 2018 WILL THE CURSE OF EQUINE FATALITY RATE SHOWS MINOR INCREASE IN 2017, DOWN 20% FROM 2009 APOLLO FINALLY FALL? While the rate of fatal equine injuries remains 20% lower than the rate in 2009, an analysis of data from The Jockey Club=s Equine Injury Database (EID) has shown a modest increase in the figures for 2017 (1.61 per 1,000 starts) compared to 2016 (1.54 per 1,000 starts). The analysis, which was performed by Professor Tim Parkin, veterinarian and epidemiologist from the University of Georgia, also confirmed a 17% drop in risk of fatal injury on dirt and a 30% drop in risk of fatal injury on turf when compared to 2009, when the EID began collecting data. AAlthough fatality rates increased this year from last year, the increase in rates is not statistically significant,@ said Parkin. AHowever, the overall decline in the rate in fatalities since the creation of the EID is statistically significant and reflects a continuously improving safety record for North American racing.@ (Click to continue to p6) Justify | Benoit photo The Week in Review, by Bill Finley IN TDN EUROPE TODAY On the hardwood, and not the racetrack, we learned this week PARISLONGCHAMP BACK IN THE LIMELIGHT that there is no such thing as an irrefutable truth in sports.
