Your help this past year enabled Lamar to win three Southland Conference team championships and assisted in several outstanding individual accomplishments, including three student-athletes earning Southland Conference Player of the Year honors. Our baseball team dominated the Southland, winning the regular season title and advancing to the championship game of the NCAA Regional Tournament in Austin. The Cardinals defeated the NCAA National Champion Rice Owls twice during the season and finished the year ranked 22ndin the nation. On the links, our men's and women's golf teams both won conference championships. Chris Stroud, a senior-to-be from Groves, was named conference player of the year for the third straight year and finished third at the NCAA National Championships. Our current success would not be possible without the support we received fkom KFDM-TV Channel 6.
