CUTTING SYSTEMS OREGON SPROCKET OVERVIEW The power from your chainsaw drives the sprocket, and the sprocket drives your cutting chain at high speed around your guide bar. Your sprocket, chain, and guide bar are the three components of your saw’s “cutting team.” It’s the cutting team that does the actual work of cutting, and your sprocket is an essential member of the team. Oregon® sprockets can be installed on chainsaws having either inboard, or outboard clutch assemblies. Follow the instructions in the operator’s manual provided by your chainsaw manufacturer for correct sprocket installation SYSTEMS Oregon® rim sprocket systems have two components: a clutch cup with splined hub, and a free-floating rim. It CUTTING SYSTEMS is only the rim that makes contact with your saw chain as it is driven around your guide bar. Rim-type sprocket systems are favored by those who want the ultimate in performance and are available for many types of chainsaws. These two-piece sprocket systems are the ultimate way to drive the chain on most types of saws and can be used by all types of chainsaw operators. • The complete sprocket system includes a clutch cup with spline and a replaceable rim sprocket • The rim floats freely on the spline, maximizing chain-bar alignment, and the rim is replaceable which extends the life and increases the value of the sprocket system The free-floating rim is the component of a rim-type sprocket system which is RIMS replaced more frequently. Oregon® offers replacement rims in a variety of sizes and tooth-counts for professional and commercial chainsaw users. Popular Oregon® rims for .325”, 3/8” and .404”- pitch chains now come with new wear-depth indicators. When sprocket wear reaches the depth of the indicator, its easy to see that it’s time to replace the sprocket. Power Mate® Rims are preferred by professional chainsaw users • “Floats” on the splined hub, allowing chain and sprocket to self-align with the bar groove • Three of the most popular sizes are available in a radially ported design, which uses centrifugal force to throw off sawdust and debris. • Popular rims are available with wear-depth indicators, which make it easy to tell when the sprocket should be replaced. RADIAL PORT WEAR-DEPTH INDICATORS SPURS One-piece spur sprockets are durable, economical, simple to use, and very popular. Unlike rim sprocket systems, the chain-driving teeth and the clutch cup are combined into a single unit on spur sprockets. Oregon® spur sprockets are available for all types of chainsaws CONSUMER SPUR PRO SPUR® SPROCKETS For occasional users of For professional users who lightweight, high-speed prefer a spur-type sprocket consumer chainsaws. • Designed specifically for use with low-kickback • Rugged and dependable 3/8” pitch chains (90SG, 91P, 91VG, 91VS) • Excellent wear-resistance Exclusive Australian Distributor • Excellent performance • Available to fit professional-type .325”, 3/8” • Top value and .404” pitch chains ADDITIONAL COMPONENTS SPUR SIZES Specialized parts used in conjunction with Oregon® sprockets are available separately. • Dust covers • Pump driver • Bearings • Neoprene seal • Washers Consumer Spur Mini 3/8” Consumer Spur .325” Pro Spur .325” Pro Spur 3/8” Pro Spur 3/8” Pro Spur .404 6 Tooth (90” and 91” Chains) 7 Tooth 8 Tooth 7 Tooth 8 Tooth 7 Tooth 422 www.gaspares.com.au VIC: 1300 760 480 NSW: 1300 363 005 QLD: 1300 363 004 WA: 1300 307 574 www.gaspares.com.au VIC: 1300 760 480 NSW: 1300 363 005 QLD: 1300 363 004 WA: 1300 307 574 423 CUTTING SYSTEMS POWER MATE RIMS THE REPLACEABLE COMPONENT OF A RIM SPROCKET SYSTEM Use these actual-size drawings to identify your rim sprocket or spline.
