How to Proceed Download VirtualBox installer and Virtual Machine: 1) Send an email request to our helpdesk ([email protected]) requesting access to the shared Google Drive site where you can download the virtual machine as well as copies of VirtualBox for Windows and Mac. 2) Once your request has been approved, sign into google drive by visiting https://drive.google.com, and clicking the “Go To Google Drive” button 3) Enter your Umass email address in the sign-in screen (@umass.edu, don’t use your departmental prefix if you have one) and hit Next – this should bring you to a UMass sign in page. 4) Once you’re signed in, on the left side of the window, you should see a new Shared Drives section - click the arrow next to it, and click SPHHS ITO_SAS_VirtualBox, the files you’ll want to download are in inside there.

5) Please note that the OVA file is large – 26 GB. Our tests have shown that it can be downloaded in ½ hour to 1 hour on our home internet connections, but it could take significantly longer. Also, please avoid trying to download this through a metered connection, such as turning your phone into a wifi hot spot – this will cause you to incur significant overages. If that size download isn’t feasible for you, please contact us so we can discuss alternative arrangements. 6) Installing VirtualBox should be straightforward for both Mac and Windows users – you just need to install with the default settings, so agree to the license agreement and proceed through the installation by clicking Next, Continue or Install where prompted.

Import the Virtual Box appliance Once VirtualBox is installed, the steps are identical between platforms - the only difference to note is the location of the VirtualBox application:
