Put yourself out there and meet new and better people Join school clubs they wouldn’t join. You can partner up with the new kid or ask someone you think would be nice to hangout. Do different sports and activities. Don’t list every single reason why they’re bad for you Again, this is only wasting your time. Plus, you don’t want to make them feel bad, or even worse it’ll aggra- vate them and they definitely won’t leave you alone. Don’t stoop to their level and focus on “revenge” Have a mindset that it will take time or “getting back at them.” Getting rid of a bad person in your life isn’t always Not only are you starting to act like this person but it’s easy. There are many new Back to school trends from clothing to shoes to fun activities. These include Vans, crop tops, and the hot video game called Fortnite! Vans are one of the most popular shoe brands out there! There are many different types of Vans, such as low tops, high tops, platform, and slip-ons. They come in all sorts of colors, but one of the most popular styles for back to school are the black and white check- ered Vans. Checkered Vans were created in the late 70’s and are now back in style. In 1982 checkered Vans were featured in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Another very popular back to school trend is crop tops with high waisted pants. The shirts range from striped to camo to solid t-shirts. One of the most popular colors this school year is mustard yellow. Jeans are always a back to school trend, but this year the most popular are ripped, tattered, and frayed. Scrunchies are also a very popular back to school trend. Scrunchies can be tracked all the way back to the 60’s. The scrunchie snapped its way back in to popular culture as one of the most popular hair ac- cessories. The scrunchie came back in 2018 and is even used on the wrist as a bracelet. This just shows that a lot of items that started in the 70’s or 80’s eventually come back into style. Slime was and still is a popular after school ac- tivity. There is a very popular YouTuber that makes slime named Karina Garcia. Slime is something that can be sold, bought, and made! Slime is a really cool activity, because the recipe to make it is glue, and Borax! But, you can also use contact solution and baking soda, or Tide if you don’t want to use bo- rax. Some people also add shaving cream, clay, glitter, and more. Another VERY popular after school trend is the game called Fortnite! Fortnite is a very popular game, because it is free to play. But, some people buy, skins, dance moves, and A LOT more! People love playing Fortnite because you can play together with friends. These are some of the most popular back to school trends. Anywhere from activities to video games to clothing to accessories! There are many more, but these are the most popular back to school trends this school year. Page 4 H1Z1 vs. Fortnite / Comic INSIDER Fortnite H1Z1 By Christian Hartson H1Z1 is a battle royale video game that is available to play on PC and PlayStation 4. H1Z1 isn't just any battle royale game though, it is the original battle royale game. H1Z1: King of the Kill and H1Z1: Just Survive came out at the same time in early 2016, but the most popular and most recent H1Z1 came out February 28, 2018. In H1Z1, 100 people spawn in on one map by jumping off an airplane. In H1Z1 the goal is to be the last one alive and to kill the other 99 players. When you start a game, you have no weapons, so you must find weapons. By Duke Hernandez H1Z1 is different and better than Fortnite because it is more realistic graphics, Fortnite is one of many battle royale video two has weapons and items that actually exist, and games. Fortnite Save the World started out as a zom- because in H1Z1 you don’t have to buy all the cos- bie-fighting game. As Fortnite died, the first bat- Comic By Breann Hill tle royale game, H1Z1 rose and blew up. When the maker of Fortnite, Epic Games found out about H1Z1, they decided to make a battle royale game mode. So, Fortnite decided to introduce a batttle royale game mode. The new mode instantly became popular around the world. As Fortnite rose again, H1Z1 lost popularity. Fortnite can be played on a variety of plat- forms. For example, Fortnite can be played on Playstation 4, Xbox One, Xbox One X, PC, Samsung Galaxy S9, Iphone 6s and up, and Nintendo Switch. I can see why H1Z1 lost popularity. One, the graphics in Fortnite are way better than H1Z1’s. If you would play H1Z1 you would see the graphics and the frames per second are not good at all. And two, the gameplay is quite boring. The map never undergoes changes, which makes the map old. But Epic Games has made some really bad decisions. Over the course of the ex- istence of Fortnite Battle Royale, Epic has made some ill-advised decisions. For H1Z1, skillcap for H1Z1 is very low, which is bad. The skillcap is the skill that is required to succeed in the game. For Fortnite, the skill required is very high, which makes the game more challenging. In the end, Epic Games can learn from those mistakes and make the game bet- ter. Fortnite may be very unrealistic, but the overall gameplay is better over H1Z1’s. Can't go home By Noelle Adams / pfangirl PART 1 - SUFFOCATED A caged lioness. That's what Lara reminded Sam of now. Every time she looked at her best friend, the American thought of the big cat she'd seen in a German zoo during her globe- trotting childhood. It wouldn't lie still. It was pure feral energy, striding back and forth in its enclosure, muscles rippling beneath its pelt. Lara was the same. Lithe grace and power in human form, always moving, always intensely focused on some task or thing. Almost permanently scowling. Sam had always wondered which of her parents Lara inherited her effortless physicality from. Four years of knowing Lara, and Sam still wasn't sure. There were no photos for her to consult. The young archaeologist hardly spoke about her vanished mother and father. She avoided talking about them; evidently running from their memory like she ran from what had happened on Yamatai. In the one and a half months since the shipwreck – well, at least since she was released from hospital – Lara had been seized by a frantic, feverish vigour. They had travelled from Osaka to the UK, where Lara had spent a single day at her family's estate, ransacking her father's study. From there they headed to New York. This put Lara closer to her next intended stop – Roanoke Island. Although the city was a good base for Lara to work from while she planned her next expedition, there was a second, more distasteful reason for the archaeologist to be there: an exclusive television interview.

It argues that this connection was not integral to the character as he was originally created, but was imposed by later writers over time and mainly for cinematic adaptations. This thesis also tracks the history of how Christians and churches viewed Superman, as the film studios began to exploit marketing opportunities by comparing Superman and Jesus. This thesis uses the methodological framework of intertextuality to ground its treatment of the sources, but does not follow all of the assumptions of intertextual theorists. iii MA Thesis—Robert Revington; McMaster University, Religious Studies ABSTRACT This thesis examines the historical trajectory of how the comic book character of Superman came to be identified as a Christ figure in popular consciousness. Superman was created in 1938, but the character developed significantly from his earliest incarnations.

  • The Oracle and Cult of Ares in Asia Minor Matthew Gonzales
The Oracle and Cult of Ares in Asia Minor Matthew Gonzales ERODOTUS never fails to fascinate with his rich and detailed descriptions of the varied peoples and nations H mustered against Greece by Xerxes;1 but one of his most tantalizing details, a brief notice of the existence of an oracle of Ares somewhere in Asia Minor, has received little comment. This is somewhat understandable, as the name of the proprietary people or nation has disappeared in a textual lacuna, and while restoring the name of the lost tribe has ab- sorbed the energies of some commentators, no moderns have commented upon the remarkable and unexpected oracle of Ares itself. As we shall see, more recent epigraphic finds can now be adduced to show that this oracle, far from being the fantastic product of logioi andres, was merely one manifestation of Ares’ unusual cultic prominence in south/southwestern Asia Minor from “Homeric” times to Late Antiquity.
