Optional: River Cruise, Museums Mile, Dragon´s Rock A river valley like in a poem: between Rheingau and you can see whatever the “Romantic Rhine” proposes: impressive fortresses, high rocks, steep vineyards and little villages like from a picture book.

The Bonn Museum Mile, with its collections and exhibitions, fascinates around two million visitors annually. The der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, where you can go on a journey through time from 1945 to the present, and the Bundeskunsthalle by the architect Gustav Peichl are in the top ten of German museums.

The densely wooded Siebengebirge is dominated by the legendary “Drachenfels” (Dragon´s Rock) mountain, even though the Drachenfels does not form the top of the total of 40 hills with its height of just 321 metres. However, its romantic ruin of a fortress and the Castle Drachenburg, which is a jewel of the High Romanticism definitely worth seeing, always attract lots of tourists.

Traditional Rhenish Dinner Enjoy a traditional Rhenish Dinner in one of the typical breweries. Bonn’s cooking has been formed by regional influences, above all the Rhenish ones, but also from those which were brought to the former residential city at the Rhine by Vorgebirge, and Hunsrück. The French members of the occupation forces also left their culinary traces in the early 19th century. As a consequence, the “Bönnsche Küche” (Bonn’s cooking) is most of the time hearty, often solid, but also subtle. Just try it!
