CRMA JUDGE BIOS 2014 Jeanne Abbott, Associate Professor, University of Missouri, worked for the Anchorage Daily News for nearly 15 years and covered the oil boom, native land claims issues and the exploding growth of a frontier city. After earning a Ph.D. in journalism from Missouri, Abbott also spent time at the Sacramento Bee and Des Moines Register before becoming a full‐‐time faculty member. Julie Vosburgh Agnone is Vice President of Editorial Operations for National Geographic Kids Publishing and Media. She returned to her home state of Missouri in 1995 to teach at the Missouri School of Journalism, holding the Meredith Chair until 2005, when she decided to devote her full time to Missouri Life. Dave Anderson is a photographer and filmmaker whose work can be found in the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, the Cocoran Gallery and in the pages of Esquire, Stern and ESPN the Magazine. In 2011 Anderson won a National Magazine Award for his “SoLost” video series created for the Oxford American. -

Fox, one of the most powerful media companies in the United States, gave life to a manufactured storyline about election fraud that cast a then-little- known voting machine company called Dominion as the villain. After the November 3, 2020 Presidential Election, viewers began fleeing Fox in favor of media outlets endorsing the lie that massive fraud caused President Trump to lose the election. They saw Fox as insufficiently supportive of President Trump, including because Fox was the first network to declare that President Trump lost Arizona. So Fox set out to lure viewers back—including President Trump himself— by intentionally and falsely blaming Dominion for President Trump’s loss by rigging the election. 1 2. Fox endorsed, repeated, and broadcast a series of verifiably false yet devastating lies about Dominion. These outlandish, defamatory, and far-fetched fictions included Fox falsely claiming that: (1) Dominion committed election fraud by rigging the 2020 Presidential Election; (2) Dominion’s software and algorithms manipulated vote counts in the 2020 Presidential Election; (3) Dominion is owned by a company founded in Venezuela to rig elections for the dictator Hugo Chávez; and (4) Dominion paid kickbacks to government officials who used its machines in the 2020 Presidential Election. 3. Fox recklessly disregarded the truth. Indeed, Fox knew these statements about Dominion were lies. Specifically, Fox knew the vote tallies from Dominion machines could easily be confirmed by independent audits and hand recounts of paper ballots, as has been done repeatedly since the election. -

Before the FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION Washington, D.C. 20554 In the Matter of ) Video Description: Implementation of the ) MB Docket No. 11-43 Twenty-First Century Communications and ) Video Accessibility Act of 2010 ) REPLY COMMENTS OF NEWS CORPORATION AND FOX NEWS NETWORK, LLC News Corporation (“News Corp.”) and Fox News Network, LLC (“Fox News”) respectfully submit these reply comments in response to the Commission’s Notice of Proposed Rulemaking concerning new video description rules.1 As News Corp. and Fox News explained to the Commission via a letter submitted as part of the opening round of comments in this proceeding, Fox News qualifies for exclusion from the rules because it does not provide at least 50 hours per quarter of non-exempt (i.e., non-live or non-near live) prime-time programming (as those terms have been defined in the Notice).2 Given that ESPN, Inc. also filed comments notifying the Commission of an exclusion, which could result in Fox News otherwise being deemed to be subject to the new rules, News Corp. and Fox News hereby provide the Commission with the additional information sought in the Notice with respect to entities that believe they should be excluded from the “top five” national non-broadcast networks. In the Notice, the Commission observed that it is statutorily directed to impose video description obligations on multichannel video programming distributors.
