Magical Disney Cruise Guide Your Unofficial Guide to Having a Magical Voyage Aboard the Ships of the Disney Cruise Line® (DCL) The Magical Disney Cruise Guide Your Unofficial Guide to Having a Magical Voyage Aboard the Ships of the Disney Cruise Line® (DCL) August 2005 Edition You can’t help but to have a terrific time on a cruise ship. There’s abundant, delicious food, top-quality shows, breathtaking scenery and the highly attentive staff. You can take shore excursions, wander around on your own or stay on the ship and lounge around the pool. There’s so much to do that you can’t possibly do it all. The onboard activities are as numerous as are the decisions that you must or should make before, and during your cruise. To help you plan and maximize your enjoyment on the cruise, the Magical Disney Cruise Guide (MDCG) was born. MDCG was originally created to assist the people on the Cruise Critic’s Disney Cruise Line® board looking for help and tips to make their trip easier and better. As the popularity of cruising increased, so did interest in the MDCG. After creating and spending several years updating the guide, the original author, Mickey Morgan, transferred the rights to the MDCG in March 2004 to AllEarsNet.com® and Deb Wills. It now has a permanent home as part of the AllEarsNet® family. Because the cruise experience is always changing, this guide is also constantly changing. We ask that you keep us informed of these changes so that others may continue to get the most out of their vacations. A quick note or a lengthy trip report is always welcome. We want to hear about the good and the bad and the little things that made your cruise magical. We thank everyone for all the submissions that we have received. Send your reports to: http://allearsnet.com/forms/contact.html You can find the freshest revision of the MDCG at: http://allearsnet.com/cruise/cruise.htm Bon Voyage and have a Magical or a Wonderful day. Disclaimer: 1. What’s the big deal? Overview and History. The Disney Cruise Line® was started when Disney executives decided to bring the unique style of Disney entertainment to the cruise industry. Previously, Disney had a cooperative venture with Premiere Cruise Line’s Big Red Boats, but they weren’t completely happy because they couldn’t control the entire experience. Disney wanted to be absolutely sure that any cruise that they put their name on was up to the standards of their parks. So, they created the Disney Cruise Line® and built two ships called the Disney Magic and the

  • Fiscal Year 2015 Annual Financial Report and Shareholder Letter 10DEC201511292957
6JAN201605190975 Fiscal Year 2015 Annual Financial Report And Shareholder Letter 10DEC201511292957 10DEC201400361461 Dear Shareholders, The Force was definitely with us this year! Fiscal 2015 was another triumph across the board in terms of creativity and innovation as well as financial performance. For the fifth year in a row, The Walt Disney Company delivered record results with revenue, net income and earnings per share all reaching historic highs once again. It’s an impressive winning streak that speaks to our continued leadership in the entertainment industry, the incredible demand for our brands and franchises, and the special place our storytelling has in the hearts and lives of millions of people around the world. All of which is even more remarkable when you remember that Disney first started entertaining audiences almost a century ago. The world certainly looks a lot different than it did when Walt Disney first opened shop in 1923, and so does the company that bears his name. Our company continues to evolve with each generation, mixing beloved characters and storytelling traditions with grand new experiences that are relevant to our growing global audience. Even though we’ve been telling our timeless stories for generations, Disney maintains the bold, ambitious heart of a company just getting started in a world full of promise. And it’s getting stronger through strategic acquisitions like Pixar, Marvel and Lucasfilm that continue to bring new creative energy across the company as well as the constructive disruptions of this dynamic digital age that unlock new opportunities for growth. Our willingness to challenge the status quo and embrace change is one of our greatest strengths, especially in a media market rapidly transforming with each new technology or consumer trend.

  • Disney Cruise Line Fun Facts
Disney Cruise Line Fun Facts Uniquely Disney • The Disney ships are painted in Mickey Mouse-inspired colors – black hull, white superstructure, yellow trim and two giant red funnels, each with the Disney Cruise Line Mickey Mouse logo. • Disney Cruise Line was the first cruise line to have yellow lifeboats, instead of the traditional regulation orange. Disney was granted special permission from the U.S. Coast Guard to paint the lifeboats yellow, to keep with the special color theming of the ship. • The Disney Magic was built in two halves… one hundred miles apart! Part of the ship was constructed in Ancona, Italy then towed 100 miles to meet the stern in Marghera (just outside Venice) to be perfectly joined and welded together. • Disney Cruise Line ships use the iconic first seven notes of the “When You Wish Upon a Star” song melody as their horn signals. • Disney ships are the only cruise ships to have five captains – the ship’s captain, Captain Mickey, Captain Minnie, Captain Hook and Captain Jack Sparrow. • Measuring 964 feet in length, the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder are each longer than Main Street U.S.A at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. At 1,115 feet, the Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream are longer than the height of the Eiffel Tower in Paris and longer than the height of New York City’s famous Chrysler Building. • The anchor on the Disney Magic weighs 28,200 pounds – about the same as three full-grown elephants. • On a special night aboard most Disney cruises, the “Pirates IN the Caribbean” deck party features a spectacular pyrotechnics performance – fireworks at sea like only Disney can do! Guest Experience • Eighty-eight percent of the staterooms on the Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream and more than 70 percent of staterooms on the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder have ocean views.

summer2014 • Volume23 • Number2 What does it really mean to be Happy? If you’re the by-the-book (or Wikipedia) type, it means you’ve achieved “a mental or emotional state of well-being characterized by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy.” If you’re an animated Dwarf, it means you live with six friends, you needn’t a mustache to complete your beard and you aren’t afraid to accentuate your belly by fastening a belt over your brightly colored shirt. This sunny summer edition of Disney Files Magazine is fi lled with stuff that makes me Happy, and my eagerness to share it with you has me somewhere between contentment and intense joy. I’m Happy, for example, to see two of my favorite resorts in the neighborhood get interior facelifts that give warm, woodsy themes a cool, contemporary edge (pages 3-6). I’m Happy anytime I get to sit down with one of the most beloved Cast Members in our community – an ageless gentleman whose passion for spreading happiness is nothing short of extraordinary (pages 7-8). I’m Happy to daydream about paradise (page 9), watch an attraction concept become real (page 19) and see an animated fi lm honor heroes who tend to fl y under the radar (page 24). I’m Happy to see faces on repurposed trash (page 14), barbecued meats on my plate (pages 16 and 21) and Marty’s memories on our pages (25-26). And fi nally, I’m Happy to give this issue’s “Last Word” to a cute kid who has the will power to make even the fairest of all Disney princesses plead for affection.
