  • Disney Cruise Line Reveals First Details on Newest Ship, New Bahamas Destination at World's Largest Disney Fan Event
Disney Cruise Line Reveals First Details on Newest Ship, New Bahamas Destination at World’s Largest Disney Fan Event ANAHEIM, Calif. (Aug. 25, 2019) – At the D23 Expo today, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Bob Chapek revealed the highly anticipated name of the fifth Disney Cruise Line ship, as well as a first look at the ship’s elegant, three-story atrium and the iconic Disney character that will adorn the ship’s stern. Chapek and Imagineer Joe Rohde also shared new details about plans for a second island destination for Disney Cruise Line in The Bahamas. With a little help from Tinker Bell, Disney fans were the first to hear that Disney Wish will be the name of the fifth Disney Cruise Line ship. The Disney Wish is scheduled for delivery in late 2021 and is expected to set sail beginning in January 2022. “There couldn’t be a better name for our incredible new ship because making wishes come true is part of the Disney DNA and is at the heart of so many of our cherished stories,” Chapek said. A new rendering provided D23 attendees with a first look at the ship’s bright and airy three-story atrium, inspired by the beauty of an enchanted fairytale. Stern characters – a beloved hallmark of Disney Cruise Line vessels – have been a tradition of the Disney fleet since the beginning and reflect the theme of each ship. For the Disney Wish, the ship’s stern will feature Rapunzel. Spirited, smart, curious and above all, adventurous, Rapunzel embodies the wish and desire to see and experience the world.

  • Walt Disney and the Power of Music James Bohn
Libri & Liberi • 2018 • 7 (1): 167–180 169 The final part of the book is the epilogue entitled “Surviving Childhoodˮ, in which the author shares her thoughts on the importance of literature in childrenʼs lives. She sees literature as an opportunity to keep memories, relate stories to pleasant times from the past, and imagine things which are unreachable or far away. For these reasons, children should be encouraged to read, which will equip them with the skills necessary to create their own associations with reading and creating their own worlds. Finally, The Courage to Imagine demonstrates how literature can influence childrenʼs thinking and help them cope with the world around them. Dealing with topics present in everyday life, such as ethnic diversity, fear, bullying, or empathy, and offering examples of child heroes who overcome their problems, this book will be engaging to teachers and students, as well as experts in the field of childrenʼs literature. Its simple message that through reading children “can escape the adult world and imagine alternativesˮ (108) should be sufficient incentive for everybody to immerse themselves in reading and to start imagining. Josipa Hotovec Walt Disney and the Power of Music James Bohn. 2017. Music in Disneyʼs Animated Features: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to The Jungle Book. Rather, it is written in notes”, states James Bohn in the conclusion to his 2017 book Music in Disney’s Animated Features: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to The Jungle Book (201).

While I appreciate that your company has continued to provide health-care benefits to furloughed workers for the past six months,6 thousands of laid off employees will now have to worry about how to keep food on the table7 as executives begin receiving hefty paychecks again.8 I would like to know whether Disney’s financial decisions have impacted the company’s 1 Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, “Statement from Josh D’Amaro, Chairman, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products (DPEP),” September 29, 2020, https://dpep.disney.com/update/. 2 Deadline, “Disney & Fox Corporation End Temporary Executive Pay Cuts Related To COVID-19 Pandemic,” Nellie Andreeva and Dominic Patten, August 20, 2020, https://deadline.com/2020/08/disney-fox-coronavirus-pay- reductions-restored-1203018873/.
