BRAZILIAN CALENDAR OF EXHIBITIONS AND FAIRS 2015 FEDERATIVE REPUBLIC OF BRAZIL Ministry of Development, Industry and Ministry of External Relations Foreign Trade General Secretariat Executive Secretary General Secretariat for Cooperation, Culture Secretariat of Trade and Services and Trade Promotion Departament of Trade and Services Policies Departament of Trade and Investment Promotion BRAZILIAN CALENDAR OF EXHIBITIONS AND FAIRS 2015 The Brazilian Calendar of Exhibitions and Fairs is an official publication of the Brazilian Federal Government. Produced annually since 1969, it features a wide selection of events from a number of sectors that, together, highlight the multiplicity of our country’s economy. Today, the Calendar is jointly organized and edited by the Department of Trade and Services Policies (DECOS) of the Secretariat of Trade and Services (SCS) of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC) and the Department of Trade and Investment Promotion (DPR) of the Ministry of External Relations (MRE). The partnership between the two Ministries began with the creation of the Permanent Inter-ministerial Working Group, established by Ordinance No. 5 of January 11, 2008. The print version of the Brazilian Calendar of Exhibitions and Fairs is distributed free of charge (in Portuguese, English and Spanish) throughout Brazil to event managers, companies, municipalities, chambers of commerce, entities that represent the private sector, government agencies, convention centers, consulates, embassies and any person or entity interested in receiving a copy, as available. Outside Brazil, the Calendar is distributed by the Ministry of External Relations through the Trade Promotion Section (SECOM) of Brazilian embassies and consulates worldwide. The electronic version, also available in the above languages, is available for free consultation and download through Brazil’s Exhibition and Fair System (www. expofeiras.gov.br) and Brazil Export (www.brasilexport.gov.br). Visitors to these websites can quickly and objectively find any registered event, searching entries through a number of different filters including “date”, “event name”, “industry” and/ or “venue”. You can also obtain contact information for each event’s organizers at the entry of the particular event. This Calendar does not contemplate all companies or entities that promote events, nor could it aspire to include all events happening in the country. There might be others, at (at least) the same level of excellence in their achievement, qualification and reliability. The events listed in this Calendar have been submitted by their organizers on their own initiative. All information on the events provided herein is the sole and exclusive responsibility of the organizing companies and promoters. Additional information can be obtained in the websites of the events and/or with their promoting companies/entities. Their addresses and phone numbers are available at the end of this publication. They represent timely opportunities to verify how one’s business is positioned in the market and strengthen its image with its target audience. Furthermore, they allow companies to test how the public will react to the products, techniques or services they offer. All of this provides these companies with better knowledge of their market and competition, with consequent improvements on performance and innovation in their products and services. In addition to representing excellent business opportunities, fairs are also an important means for their participants to exchange experiences and knowledge, get to know technological innovations and evaluate prices and compare quality. As a whole, fairs and exhibitions also play the crucial role of increasing the competitiveness of local production in face of the extremely demanding global market. Moreover, it is clear that the benefits of holding these events extends beyond exhibitors and visitors. The whole local economy also benefits, especially hotels and restaurants, transport and logistics companies, stand and equipment rental services, translation services, reception and security, amongst others. By promoting the annual publication of the Brazilian Calendar of Exhibitions and Fairs, the Brazilian Ministries of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC) and External Relations (MRE) are also expressing their belief that fairs are important channels for trade and dissemination of knowledge for business and consumers, both national and international. The information gathered in this publication enables traders, service providers and consumers to plan their participation in the over 300 business opportunities we have listed here. Happy networking!
