PRESS RELEASE Genesis House Gallery 26 October 2011 GENESIS PUBLICATIONS & Reading Rooms Fine Limited Editions Since 1974 genesis-publications.com The Faces unveil their first book with an exhibition of photos. A nd new paintings by Ronnie Wood Surrey, UK, 26 October 2011 – Last night at Genesis House Gallery & Reading Rooms, two heroes of contemporary rock music came together to announce the launch of their new book: FACES 1969-75 . The legendary guitarist of the Jeff Beck Group, Faces and the Rolling Stones - Ronnie Wood - joined fellow band mate, former drummer for the Small Faces, Faces, and The Who - Kenney Jones - for a private celebration and unveiling of the Faces’ first official book. This November 2011, a new 8-week exhibition commemorates the book’s launch: Nearly 100 pages are blown up and reproduced on Genesis’s gallery walls. Visitors are invited to stroll through the Faces’ glory years from the band’s First Step in 1969 to their eventual split in 1975. Also on display are 5 new paintings by Ronnie Wood, seen for the very first time. Entitled ‘The Famous Flames Suite’ – the paintings capture the Rolling Stones in performance. ‘Making the book we went through so many photos it brought back memories and, when we were finished, I looked through it, and it actually brought a tear to my eye. I thought it was just me but then I spoke to Woody and he said exactly the same thing had happened to him.’ Kenney Jones ‘We were bored so much hanging around in places where they didn’t even know how to make a salad… It’s amazing how such great things can come out of being bored.’ Ronnie Wood Among hundreds of guests, Ronnie and Kenney were also joined by new Faces frontman, Mick Hucknall and artist Sir Peter Blake .

A Bourdieusian Methodology for the Sub-Field of Musical Production • The process is always iterative … so this paper presents a ‘work in progress’ … • The presentation represents the state of play in a third cycle through data collection and analysis …so findings are contingent and diagrams used are the current working diagrams! • The process begins with the most prominent agents in the field since these are the ones with the most capital and the best configuration. 1 BREAKFAST W/ THE BEATLES PLAYLIST APRIL 5TH 2015 2 Special Guest RINGO! Start with some religious references from hero’s JPG&R on this Holy weekend right here on BWTB… 3 OPEN Paul McCartney – Heaven On A Sunday – Flaming Pie ‘97 Written in August 1996 while in the US, it featured Linda and son, James McCartney who contributed the lead guitar. George Harrison – My Sweet Lord - All Things Must Pass ‘70 This was the major smash hit of the album by Christmas 1970. It was originally intended for the Edwin Hawkins Singers (who had record, “Oh Happy Day,” which greatly influenced “My Sweet Lord.” George had also let Billy Preston release his own version before George’s – but it was George’s version that was the huge hit and remains the biggest single song success of his entire solo career. 4 Ringo – Oh My Lord – Choose Love John Lennon – God - Plastic Ono Band ‘70 This was the definitive track on the LP. This song was “stuck together” from three different, unfinished compositions. This included a laundry list of John’s opinions on his lost beliefs (namely people and philosophies). This was the song that confirmed the Beatles were over – John revealed he didn’t believe in the band, nor was Paul the walrus. John finally reveals that he was indeed the walrus. • THE SMALL FACES: UNDER REVIEW (Limited Collector's Edition)
The Small Faces: Under Review Page 1 of 2 THE SMALL FACES: UNDER REVIEW (Limited Collector's Edition) Reviewed by Winslow Leach THE REVIEW: The Small Faces are one of the most legendary British pop groups of the 1960s. The group hailed from London and were led by Steve Mariott. The band represented the "Mod" scene along with bands like The Who. This new DVD looks at the bands progression from the bright beginnings to the bitter end. After meeting in a music store in the early 60s, Steve Mariott and Ronnie Lane began playing together and the core of the group was formed. Soon after, Steve and Ronnie brought in their friends Kenny Jones and Jimmy Winston and they began rehearsing together moving from small East End pubs to more elite clubs. The band were certainly not well tuned but they continued to play and get more tight. One important thing Steve Marriot had going for him was his great voice which definitely had a raw soulful sound. The band was soon discovered by a singer named Elkie Brooks who was impressed by Steve's voice and put them in touch with a club owner, Maurice King. Soon after, Jimmy Winston was let go from the group and another Mod on the scene, Ian McLagan was brought on. The first gig they played in Sheffield went sour and they were kicked out, but they then entered a Mod club down the road called the Mojo Club, they performed for free, put on a really explosive set and wound up causing a huge buzz with the local kids.
