Explore FurtherSM DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY Day 1 Upon arrival in Buenos Aires, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight to El Calafate, the gateway to the majestic world of glaciers. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, “Los Glaciares” National Park hosts the breathtaking Perito Moreno Glacier, with outstanding views. Set out on a 4x4 trip from the farm gate ascending the Mount Frias, for trails with views of the main body of the Argentino Lake, the Centinela river valley, Torres del Paine, and the highest peaks of the Andes mountain chain and the Fitz Roy mount, if the weather allow us. The 4x4 adventure continues on the descent, through the Lengas Forest for views of the east slope of the mount, until you reach Estancia Alice, and return back to El Calafate. Day 2 Today you’ll tackle Perito Moreno Glacier, which rises majestically 80 km away from El Calafate. This is one of the largest and the only advancing glaciers in the world, as well as the biggest attraction at Los Glaciares National Park, a 600,000-hectare protected area covered by an ice mantle. Start by penetrating the Patagonic Andean forest, making a first breathtaking stop at “Curva de los Suspiros” (Curve of Sighs), where you’ll walk down the catwalks to approach the Glacier to admire it from different panoramic points for a once-in-a-lifetime delight. Optional Mini-Trekking Adventure- 3 hours** (additional cost $225 USD per person) Departing the pier at Bajo de Los Sombras, take the 20-minute sail across the Rico Arm, admiring breathtaking views of the glacier’s front walls along the way. Arriving at the opposite shore, you’ll be greeted by specialized mountain guides, who’ll lead you to a small shelter. From here, small groups will follow their guides along the lake’s shore, towards the edge of the glacier. Once on the ice, you’ll strap on your crampons for a two-hour trek. After your glacier hike, a stroll through the forest will bring you back to the shelter. Note: For this glacier experience, the trekking is moderate. The ice surface over which you will walk is irregular, but firm and safe. While the trekking itself is not overly vigorous, this excursion is considered strenuous and appropriate only for our more active guests. Suggested to guests between the ages of 10 & 65 years old. ** If you would like to book this tour, inform Azamara® at the time of booking your Land Program. You will pay to the Tour Leader once in Argentina. Day 3 This morning, you’ll be met and escorted to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires. Day 4 Embark on a city highlights tour of “the Paris of South America’s” glamorous neighborhoods, showcasing the emblematic buildings and places of unique architectural, historical, and cultural value. Your tour concludes at Café Tortoni. Founded in 1858, it’s Argentina’s oldest coffee shop with a very rich history, and favored by the country’s cultural and political elite.
