Our Core Values The sporting year at Ardrossan Academy: Ayrshire Schools Athletics - Congratulations to Alister Ewart who won silver in the S1 boys High jump, to Olivia McDougall who won bronze in the S1 girls Shot Putt and to Amy Scott who placed 4th in the S1 girls long jump & 5th in the S1 girls 300m. Ardrossan Academy Achieves ACTIVE PARTICIPATION DAYS - 2018/19 To encourage participation in a more ac- tive lifestyle a number of Active Boy/Girl days have taken place over the past ses- sion. These have proved to be a very popular addition to the school calendar as this small gallery demonstrates... “Life is for participating, not for spectating.” Ardrossan Academy Achieves Kathrine Switzer The Music & Creative Arts year at Ardrossan Academy: Four S3 pupils were selected as Junior Music Ambassadors this session. Amy Palmer, Caitlin Alexander, Holly McNamara and Mackenzie Smith represented the Music Department by presenting various concerts, supporting the department with new initiatives and visiting our cluster primaries in preparation for the Next Generation concert in May. Piper Mackenzie Smith has had a number of successes this session. He is a regular face at Ardrossan Academy events, performing at prizegivings, prom and for the arrival of the Cabinet secretary on her visit to Ardrossan. He played along with 200 other pipers on the Red Hot Chilli Piper’s recording of Highland Cathedral, which will feature on their new album.
