Winning gold in the 3,000 metre and silver in the 1,500 metre-event for Team Ontario provided fans with a peak at what would become one of the greatest skating careers in Canadian history. Fast-forward to today and the 34-year-old sporting legend possesses a tro- phy case that is the envy of nearly every athlete in the country. She captured a silver medal in the ladies 1500 metre and a bronze in ladies 3000 metre for Canada at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and earned a pair of silver medals during the 2006 Winter Olympic Games held in Turin, becoming only the 11th Canadian to win four medals in an Olympic career.
