EAST LANSING, Mich. -- It was a tight game for much of the first half with eight ties, but Syracuse threatened to pull away late, leading 44-35 with 2:41 remaining. MSU, however, narrowed the margin to five at the break. The Spartans then scored the first five points of the second half to tie the game. Trailing 51-46, MSU took the lead with a 7-0 run. Syracuse quickly retook the lead but could never pull away. Chris Hill connected on a deep three-pointer to cut the SU lead to 76-73 and establish a Big Ten record for three-point field goals made.
