To the North Shuswap community: Jay Simpson The year 2015 will be pivotal to the future of the North Shuswap Health Centre. As we know, there is no resident doctor practicing in the North Shuswap and residents and visitors are having to make the decision to take up with a new physician in Chase, Salmon Arm or Kamloops. We understand that this decision is difficult for many to make and understand that many residents require a family doctor and cannot wait for a new physician in Scotch Creek. Please make the decision that is right for your family. But please remember there are services in Scotch Creek and we encourage you to use all the services offered. Friendship Dinner - Thank you, Thank you!! As this was the first time I organized the Friendship Dinner, it amazed me to see how the community pulled together to help make this possible. The way the school did the decorating was fantastic. All the set up crews and take down help after the dinner was great. I was pleasantly surprised to see all the people who stayed to help clean up. To all the cooks, you are all real gems. All who brought the desserts, they were very tasteful. The kitchen help was fantastic, St. David’s by-the-Lake hope to see you again next year. DID YOU KNOW ……. Love effects the chemical processes in the brain that affect how we feel . When we’re with a significant other, the body releases hormones, like oxytocin and dopamine, that signal feelings of trust, pleasure, and reward. And all that happens in the brain may be good for the heart— literally. Scientists suggest blood pressure is lowered when romantic partners feel familiar and comfortable with each other. 44 THE NORTH SHUSWAP KICKER FEBRUARY 2015
