FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Allie Stewart Phone: 503.528.8515 Email: [email protected] Women lead at Lloyd Center Portland, OR (March 3, 2020) — Women’s History Month serves as an opportunity to reflect on the dedicated women who have fought for equality throughout the years and empower the women of today to continue their hard work and leadership. Examples of this strong female leadership and community are not hard to find in Portland, with a team of women leading the way at Lloyd Center. Among the millions of other women in business across the country are a group of entrepreneurs, managers, business owners and brewers at Lloyd Center who are bringing local, sustainably focused products, food and beverages to Oregonians with a side of female empowerment. At Lloyd Center’s helm is General Manager Allie Stewart. Brought on at Lloyd Center in July of 2019, Stewart has been a leading female force in retail for over a decade, managing projects and properties including Bridgeport Village, Cascade Station, Nyberg Woods, Valley Mall, Washington Plaza and the Streets of Tanasbourne. “I have held a variety of roles throughout my career, and as a female in this industry, I learned immediately how important it is to have women and other underrepresented groups actively involved in visioning and decision-making processes,” Stewart says. “It’s rare to find a woman-dominated management team like we have at Lloyd Center, and I’m proud to be a part of this innovative, driven group.” This trend isn’t unique to Lloyd Center’s management team. Shops like Good Intent, Animal Plant Mineral and Migration Brewing are a part of the emerging leadership and culture at the center. Avery Harris, General Manager at Migration Brewing’s Lloyd Center location, says this sort of female empowerment is nothing new for Migration. This year, Migration assembled a team of lady brewmasters and managers to create an Italian pilsner for the annual SheBrew Festival and celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8. “Brewing and the beer industry have historically been male dominated,” Harris said. “We’re proud to be breaking the mold at Migration with a team of inspiring, talented and hardworking women who will be instrumental in shaping the future of Oregon beer.” However, Migration isn’t the only place where you will find women leading the way in Lloyd, Good Intent general manager Alex Gamboa Grand says this local, sustainably focused business concept was developed through a friendship and desire to do good. “When Lindsay and I started Good Intent, we wanted to empower people to take change into their own hands and live more intentionally,” said Gamboa Grand. “We’ve been so encouraged by the support we’ve received, including from the other women at the mall. We’re so grateful to be a part of this community." Local charities have also settled in at Lloyd Center including Howard’s Heart, a non-profit that seeks to provide resources and support to foster children across the state. Founded by Jennifer Boling and Amy Bunker, Howard’s Heart is just another example of women leading in Lloyd Center and actively working to improve the local community. ### About Lloyd Center The iconic Lloyd Center – once America’s largest mall and a model for retail centers across the country – is a 1.2 million square-foot mixed-use lifestyle, shopping and entertainment center centrally located in the Portland Metro area.
