Organization: Kind of organization: Education Institute/academic Area of coverage (municipalities/province): Pili, Camarines Sur Calabanga, Camarines Sur Sipocot, Camarines Sur Pasacao, Camarines Sur Number of members: 906 personnel Short history: The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) is situated in Barangay San Jose, Municipality of Pili, Province of Camarines Sur. It stands on 736 hectare land reservation made available by the government through proclamations for agricultural land school purposes. It was established in 1918 known as Camarines Agricultural School (CAS) offering courses on modern farming for intermediate level exclusively for boys. Through the decades, the school continued to acquire national status and reached its milestone as a state college named Camarines Sur State Agricultural College (CSSAC). The College focused on elevating its quality through strengthening of physical and manpower resources, revising and formulating new curricular programs, intensifying research and development programs, expanding production programs, and establishing linkages to efficiently implement its trilogy mandate: instruction, research and extension. By virtue of Republic Act No. 9717, CSSAC was converted into a state university now known as the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture effective October 30, 2009. Vision: To become a leading university of Agriculture in the Philippines by 2018 and in the ASEAN Region by 2024. Mission: To produce globally competitive graduates, to develop viable agro-industrial technologies and to help build resilient and sustainable communities Objectives/Goals: 1. Provide quality education experience to the students 2. Generate innovative technologies for commercialization 3. Empower communities and other stakeholders 4. Enhance university resources Programs/activities/services: the University has 4 campuses CBSUA-PILI CAMPUS: Graduate Programs and Undergraduate Programs CBSUA-CALABANGA CAMPUS: Bachelor’s programs, master’s programs and certificate programs are being offered here. CBSUA-SIPOCOT CAMPUS: bachelor’s programs are being offered here. CBSUA-PASACAO EXTENSION CAMPUS: bachelor’s programs are being offered here. Networks 1. The University works together with the barangay officials. 2. The University has formal agreements with Local Government Units. 3. The University works with national government agencies such as Department of Agriculture. 4. The University works with following NGO’s/NGA’s: Trias and Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management (APAD). 5. The University works also with other organizations such as APEAEN for Researches. 6. The University has links with several institutions of higher education such as Partido State University and Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges to name just two. 3. Sharing/Needs 1. The University is strong in and can help others with in instruction, research and extension particularly in agriculture-related sciences, development education, and management practices manifested in curricular program offerings. 2. The University is searching for help in linkaging and networking for collaborative initiatives on Promoting Resiliency among Agricultural Communities; innovations on Sustainable Organic Agricultural Production; Climate Science. .
