CHOOSE LIFE:"God's love was revealed to us in this way: God sent his only-begotten Son into the world so that we might have life through him." (1 John 4:9 REFLECTION: The bible teaches us that God is love, and it likewise teaches us that this love leads to life. Love always gives life; it never takes it. That's why Christians are pro-life. PRAYER: Father, thank you for revealing your love in Christ, who is life and gives life. May we be immersed in that love, that we too may always be open to life and become givers and defenders of life. Amen. Pro-Life Reflections for Every Day ~ Fr. Frank Pavone

VOCATION VIEW: We can feel the Lord’s call at the strangest places and times. The call can haunt us and pursue us until we say,“Lord, what will you have me do?”.

Diocese of Marquette—St. Joseph Association—Bridging the Gap Retired priests of the Diocese of Marquette receive health and automobile insurance and a monthly pension from the St. Joseph Association, the diocesan priest retirement fund. Diocesan priests live independently during their retirement, and they use their pension for basic needs, such as food, housing and transportation. Parish assessments, plus growth in the St. Joseph Association, have fallen short of what is needed to provide necessary benefits to our retired priests. All parishes and missions in the Diocese of Marquette will participate in a special collection on April 21st/22nd help “bridge the gap.” It is essential that we ensure adequate retirement and health coverage in the years ahead for our priests. Next Sunday is Good Shepherd Sunday! Please return your collection envelope during next weekends’ Masses.

The Patriotic Rosary is prayed everywhere from within cloistered convents, to inside the Pentagon; from dangerous military fields around the globe to the quietness of the Bedroom of Apparitons and the Field of Apparitions at Caritas, which is the home of the Patriotic Rosary. The Patriotic Rosary quickly captured the hearts and attention of millions when first heard and prayed. Inspired by Our Lady of Medjugorje, the Patriotic Rosary is a powerful prayer for divine protection and mercy for our Nation and its rebirth. EUCHARISTIC ADORATION: First Friday Adoration May 4th, following 8:00 am Mass until noon Benediction. The Eucharist—The Sacrament of His Death and Resurrection “ ‘Rabbi, where are you staying?’ Each day the church responds: Christ is present in the Eucharist, in the sacrament of His death and resurrection. In and through the Eucharist, you acknowledge the dwelling-place of the Living God in human history. For the Eucharist is the Sacrament of the Love which conquers death. It is the Sacrament of the covenant, pure Gift of Love for the reconciliation of all humanity. It is the gift of the Real Presence of Jesus The Redeemer, in the bread which is His Body given up for us, in the wine which is His Blood poured out for all.” (Pope John Paul II, 1997, , ). When we come to the Eucharist, we come to the Resurrection, for this is where our Risen Savior dwells! When we come before Our Eucharistic Lord in Adoration He showers us with an outpouring of His healing love, mercy and grace. We must run to Him and bring our loved ones and everyone with us. Each and every Holy Hour of Adoration we make will short- en the time until He will bring about a new day, the resurrection of His people, His church, and His world! He is “the Lamb on the throne” who shepherds us, He is the source of “life-giving water” who “will wipe every tear” from our eyes (Rev 7:17). Through our Eucharistic Adoration we witness to His resurrection and tell the world: “He is risen… He is here!” (Lk 24:34). “My strength and my courage is the Lord and He has been my Savior!” (Is 12:2).

Why Do You Love Being Catholic?

By: Matthew Kelly

An empty tomb.

This isn’t what they expected. Imagine the fear. Imagine the confusion. Jesus told them it would happen, but they still were not prepared for his resurrection. Mary Magdalene didn’t even recognize Jesus when he stood right in front of her.

But he is risen!

Do you act like the disciples and Mary Magdalene? Or do you expect the extraordinary? Do you expect miracles?

Jesus wants to do something extraordinary in your life. He wants to resurrect your life. What part of your life needs resurrection? We all have an area of our lives that needs resurrection. What’s happening in your life right now? What’s not working in your life? What great question are you grappling with in your heart?

Whenever I get to a place in my life where things aren’t making sense, it always seems that I need to rediscov- er Jesus and his Church. And whenever I intentionally try to rediscover Jesus and his Church, I am over- whelmed with how powerful our faith truly is.

I love the Church. I love the genius of Catholicism. In fact, I’m working on a new book right now about why I love being Catholic. And I need your help. Will you please share with me your answer to one (or all three) of the following questions? Your answer could be as brief as a sentence, or as lengthy as 600 words per question.

The questions are: Why do you love being Catholic? What’s your favorite memory as a Catholic? As a Catholic, what are your hopes for the future?

You can easily email me your answers at [email protected]. Know that I may use portions or the entirety of your answer in my book. If I use any portion of your answer, I would be happy to attribute it to you. If you would rather remain anonymous, please indicate that in your email. I plan to begin writing soon, so please respond by April 10.

God loves new beginnings. He wants to give you a fresh start. Let Jesus resurrect you this Easter season. The entire team here at Dynamic Catholic is praying that you experience Jesus’ resurrection in a whole new way.

May you be filled with his joy,

Rev. Darryl J. Pepin, Pastor [email protected] www.dioceseofmarquette.org/stelizabethbarkriver
