Tiffany Brandos a returning cheerleader streches before strarting the workshop

Last week the PC spirit team held workshops for many hopefuls in the south gym. During these workshops the ladies learned cheers and dance steps to help familirize them with what the spirit team will be doing later in the semester as well as next year. The spirit team is lead by Tiffany Brandos, coached by Melissa Latchford and advised by Regina Aleong. Several of the hopefuls are high school seniors and will be attending FC next year. Most of the young ladies that are auditioning for the spirit team are from our very own Fullerton College. The audition began with stretches to help the women acheve'proper flexability needed to do jumps and bends in cheers. The next activity was a practiced dance number pre- formed to music. The dance involved high energy moves mixed with fresh dance moves. Last and most important was the spirit section which involved spirited cheers to help pep up school spirit during ralleys and sporting events. When asked why they wanted to join the FC spirit team, incomming freshman Julia Palasik said "It gives me a chance to get involved in the game.", freshman Nubia Correa said "I like to dance and be part of a team."and sophmore Kisha Cook said "I came to FC because Cypress diden't have a cheer team." The ladies gave it their all during the workshop in hopes of being selected to become the next spirit team member. Melissa Latchford gives instuctions to the group
