Her musical abilities are outstandng and she can play by ear. Maddie will sometimes pick up instruments she has no training in and pick off the notes of a popular song she just heard. Often Maddie leads the lower grades in their rehearsals during musical theater and dance. She is looked up to and well respected by her peers and mentors the pre -k and up students at her school. Going to a performing arts school she has been fortunate enough to get some experience in all aspects of theater and film, from behind the scenes stage artwork to multimedia presentations. Madeline is a very accomplished dancer and will have completed the course of training that will allow her to become an instructor early. She loves ballroom and studies both American and International styles. Her specialties are Latin dances. A diva and fashionista since birth, Maddie was wearing plastic heels since she could walk. Comfortable on stage and modeling during pageants with excellent presence sure to get noticed, and a face for beauty shots, she has been refining her skills with education. Since January she has been taking extensive modeling classes with Abigail Borod of NY City but she has always been very comfortable on the runway and keeps abreast of all the newest fashions and designers through magazines and blogs. Madeline has the classic hour-glass figure complemented by a dancer's legs. She has a chameleon like ability to learn and can whether as an actor or model can represent what the role requires. From ingenue to editorial she has the attitude. Fun and flirty or all depth she can switch it on. You will not be unhappy if you hire Maddie to represent your line. She takes independent art classes, dance classes, is a Zumba and kickboxing instructor, and still manages to make good grades and continally work on being a better actor, better model, singer, dancer and musician. She has been recommended for on several occasions for advanced workshops for gifted art and dance students. SPECIAL SKILLS A natural behind the camera Madeline has proven to be extremely photogenic and takes direction very well. Photographers love her and often request to work with her multiple times. Kickboxing, hulu -hoop and yoga as well as dance, Zumba and biking keep her in shape and very atheletic. Her determination and drive as well as natural ability make her a complete, well rounded package. She is a very happy and well liked, personable little girl with the ability to play and sound well above her natural age. She has the maturity and professionalism to go along with it and conducts herself like a pro. She has a wonderful personality and is a fun kid who challenges herself but respects others. Her special skills include but are not limited to the following: Piano Guitar Dance Singing 3 Octaves + Acting Art Modeling Pageanty She can even speak some Japanese. There is very litte that Madeline cannot do and what she can't do she can learn. She can double dutch, is an excellent swimmer. The only thing that needs work is bowling. -That she could work on. She can cook, type on a manual typewriter, play softball and drums. She has even worn 6 inch platform boots and danced a very fast jive. She wanted to wear the boots and it was a dance party night. Please read Madeline's entire resume to get a sense of her real skills as they can't really be summed up. Her best skill is how at ease she can make her audience, how well she can interact with a crowd, and how complete strangers are undeniably drawn to her. Additional Information Her personal website www.maddiek.com contains more videos and information about Madeline. Her voice since making her last demo has grown incredibly so it really has to be heard in person. They are not professional videos and the sound quality is not great. Recently Maddie was voted national 11yr. old NES Princess, overall most beautiful and Madline is Jr Teen Miss Connecticut Tourism 2010 as well as the Connecticut state finalist for National American Miss. Much of her modeling experience comes from pageantry. Pageants make extensive use of modeling and have strict scoring rules. The runway is used during every pageant and Madeline has done very well in pageants. Her platform is animal rescue and adoption and she hopes to have all animals in kill shelters removed and placed in foster homes until adopted permanently. Madeline is also a National and Hartford Chapter HOG (Harley Owners Group) member. She belongs to this group as a way to help lend support to various charities. She often makes appearances in her Crown and Sash lend support to causes like the Hartford Childrens Medical Center or Foodshare. She will sponsor bake sales and car washes to raise money for her cause. She is also a representative of PETA Kids and helps to promote vegetarianism and spaying or neutering your pets. Her family has many adopted animals and she will make speeches about adoption when asked. Maddie is very comfortable speaking in public. When she gets up and sings in public the MC tells the audience to remember her name because she is going to be a star someday, something her family has known her entire life. Some people have star quality and Madeline falls into that category. She could sing before she could talk. Please take the opportunity to interview Maddie in person. What cannot be conveyed in a resume is the heart of the person it is trying to represent. Maddie has an attraction that draws people to her. Small children love her because she is so kind and they think she is pretty. Kids her own age like her because she is so relatable. For all of her accompishments she doesn't see herself as any different than anyone else and would love to go fishing or go for a bike ride. Adults love her because she is a beautiful, respectful, nice person, who sings songs like "Blue Bayou" that they know the words to, and she doesn't wear skimpy clothes or use bad language. Best of all she isn't shy. She has learned the art of conversation at an early age. She has a vocabulary to draw on. She has traveled and is interested in other cultures. Please look beyond just the pretty face. Madeline Kean has so much to offer the world, some day she will take it by storm. PLEASE NOTE: MADELINE IS 13yrs OLD. Please do not return call backs for auditions and turn her away when she gets there based on her age. The information is in her profile and is all on file. It says she is 12 here. It costs money and takes her out of school to attend auditions. She has valid working papers for NY state and looks and can play much older than her real age, but she IS 13. Thank you, Mary Kean. • So Your Daughter Wants to Enter the Convent?
SO YOUR DAUGHTER WANTS TO ENTER THE CONVENT? By Madeline Pecora Nugent, mom of Sr. Veronica of Jesus, CN (260-739-6882, [email protected]) Your daughter wants to enter religious life and you suddenly find yourself thinking, "Why couldn't I have the normal problems folks have with daughters like too much sex, drugs, or spending? Why does my daughter want to become a --- gulp --- nun?!" Our daughter entered the convent eight years ago, right out of high school at the age of seventeen. She is now finally professed which means she's a full fledged nun. And she couldn't be happier. But I remember life when she was discerning her vocation. I know what you are thinking. As parents, we want our children to find happiness and success. If God is calling your daughter to enter religious life, that is where she will find her happiness. That is where she will experience success. This happens because she'll be following God's Will. But how do you know if it's God's Will that your daughter become a nun? You may not know. She is the one who has to discern that call. The convent or Order she is planning to enter will help her. They will want to accept only those women whom they feel are suited to the vocation of that convent or Order. If the superiors feel that your daughter is immature or undecided, they will want her to take more time to discern before she enters religious life. A woman in a convent, who ought not be there, is a source of stress and discomfort for everyone else.
