2019 Kansas Statutes 32-837. State parks. (a) The following parks have been designated as a part of the state park system: (1) Kanopolis-Mushroom Rock state park in Ellsworth county; (2) Cross Timbers state park at Toronto Lake in Woodson county; (3) Fall River state park in Greenwood county; (4) Cedar Bluf state park in Trego county; (5) Tuttle Creek state park in Pottawatomie and Riley counties; (6) Pomona state park in Osage county; (7) Cheney state park in Kingman and Reno counties; (8) Lake Crawford state park in Crawford county; (9) Lovewell state park in Jewell county; (10) Lake Meade state park in Meade county; (11) Prairie Dog state park in Norton county; (12) Webster state park in Rooks county; (13) Wilson state park in Russell county; (14) Milford state park in Geary county; (15) Historic Lake Scott state park in Scott county; (16) Elk City state park in Montgomery county; (17) Perry state park in Jeferson county; (18) Glen Elder state park in Mitchell county; (19) El Dorado state park in Butler county; (20) Eisenhower state park in Osage county; (21) Clinton state park in Douglas and Shawnee counties; (22) Sand Hills state park in Reno county; (23) Hillsdale state park in Miami county; (24) Kaw River state park in Shawnee county; (25) Prairie Spirit rail trail state park in Franklin, Anderson and Allen counties; (26) Flint Hills trail state park in Miami, Franklin, Osage, Lyon, Morris and Dickinson counties; and (27) Little Jerusalem Badlands state park in Logan county. (b) No state park named in subsection (a) shall be removed from the state park system without legislative approval. (c) The hours that Kaw River state park in Shawnee county is open to the public may be limited to those hours that parks of the city of Topeka are open, except that such state park shall be open at all hours for prescheduled events. (d) The requirements found in K.S.A. 65-171d(j)(2), and amendments thereto, shall not apply to subsection (a)(25) or (a)(26). (e) For any state park listed in subsection (a) containing a recreational trail created pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 1247(d), the Kansas department of wildlife, parks and tourism shall carry out the duties listed in K.S.A. 58-3212(a)(1) through (a)(11), and amendments thereto. HOUSE BILL No. 2680 AN ACT concerning wildlife and parks; relating to violations of wildlife and parks laws; concerning cash bonds; changing the name of Toronto state park to Cross Timbers state park at Toronto Lake; amending K.S.A. 32-837 and 32-1050 and repealing the existing sections. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas: Section 1. K.S.A. 32-1050 is hereby amended to read as follows: 32- 1050. (a) Whenever any person is issued a citation by a conservation officer or deputy conservation officer of the wildlife and parks conser- vation service or by any law enforcement officer for any of the violations described in subsection (b), the officer may require such person to give bond in the amount specified in subsection (b) for the offense for which the person was charged, which bond shall be subject to forfeiture if the person does not appear at the court at the time specified in the written citation. The bond shall be a cash bond and shall be payable using cash or legal tender identified as travelers checks, certified checks, cashiers checks, personal checks and postal money orders. The cash bond shall be taken in the following manner: The officer shall furnish the person charged with a stamped envelope addressed to the judge or clerk of the court named in the written citation and the person shall place in such envelope the amount of the bond, and in the presence of the officer shall deposit the same in the United States mail. After having complied with these requirements, the person charged need not sign the citation, but the officer shall note the amount of the bond mailed on the citation and shall give a copy of such citation to the person.

2016 Fish Consumption Advisories Issued / 1-7-16 / Weekly News / News / KDWPT Info / KDWPT - KDWPT | Like 0 2016 Fish Consumption Advisories Issued Tweet TOPEKA – The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism (KDWPT) are issuing revised fish consumption advisories for 2016. The advisories identify types of fish or other aquatic animals that should be eaten in limited quantities or, in some cases, avoided altogether because of contamination. General advice is also provided to aid the public in making informed decisions regarding the benefits as well as the risks associated with eating locally caught fish from Kansas waters. Statewide Advisories The following consumption restrictions are recommended because of mercury in fish: Women who are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are nursing and children age 17 or younger should restrict consumption of all types of locally caught fish, from waters or species of fish not specifically covered by an advisory, to one meal per week because of mercury. Women who are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are nursing and children age 17 or younger should restrict consumption of largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass (black basses) to one meal per month because of mercury. The general public (men and women 18 or older)should restrict consumption of these species to one meal per week because of mercury. Recommendations include not eating specified fish or aquatic life from the following locations: 1. The Kansas Riverfrom Lawrence (below Bowersock Dam) downstream to Eudora at the confluence of the Wakarusa River (Douglas and Leavenworth counties); bottom-feeding fish such as buffalo, carp, carpsuckers, catfishes (except flathead catfish), sturgeons, and suckers because of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs).

2020 Kansas Statutes 74-4545. State park authority authorized to negotiate and renegotiate leases for lands in Cheney, Clinton, Elk City, Fall River, Lovewell, Toronto, Perry, Tuttle Creek, Webster and Wilson state parks. The state park and resources authority is hereby authorized to negotiate and to renegotiate leases for lands in designated state parks with agencies of the federal government or with the state of Kansas, or any agency or political subdivision thereof, having control of lands to provide for approximate changes in acreage within the designated parks as follows: Cheney State Park, Cheney reservoir, located in Kingman, Reno and Sedgwick counties; decrease in acreage by approximately 306 acres—being that area south of 21st street lying in Kingman county; that area south of 21st street lying in Sedgwick county, except the triangular area south of 21st street between the old and new river channels; and that area north of 21st street lying east of F.A.S. route 556, Sedgwick county, and F.A.S. route 659, Reno county. Fall River State Park, Fall River reservoir, located in Greenwood county, decrease in acreage by approximately 2028 acres located in the Casner Creek cove and the Badger Creek cove; and decrease in acreage by approximately 130 acres, being that area lying to the north in the upper drainage of the Quarry Bay area, described as that portion lying east of the access road in the S1/2, SE1/4, NE1/4, section 26, and that portion lying north of and east of the access road in the SW1/4, section 25, and in the N1/2, NE1/4, SE1/4, section 26, all in township 27S, range 12E.
